The Easy Way to Home Brew Beer Minibrew

Brewing Beer the easy way with a brewing machine. Minibrew is an automated brewing machine run from an app. You place your ingredients and the app does the rest. You still need to do the washing up though 😉.
This is my first go at brewing and I tried a Chinook Single hop from a recipient book at waterintobeer store! I bought the ingredients and placed them as instructed by the app.
Minibrew mashed all the malts and then drops in the hops from an automated hop carousel.
Once the beer is ready the app instructs you to take the beer keg away and plug it in for cooling. 10 days later your beer is ready!
I have zero experience in brewing. This really is the easiest way to brew beer.

You should try baking a bread with the grains,... it's quite common in Germany to make a "Tresterbrot" or pomace bread - fits perfectly to your beer.

Get a glass beaker, sterilise it and add the yeast and water. This hydrates the yeast before adding. (Use all of the yeast packet). Try and ascertain what hops go in and when on your recipe. This will make a huge difference as adding hops during the brew effects the bitterness. Also, for hoppy and aromatic full tasting beers, try dry hopping. This is done during fermentation. It’s dangerous as it exposes oxygen so try and purge with a little co2. These steps will drastically improve the beer. Love this machine, great for pilot brews… I want one. Thanks for the video :)

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I’m just having a go and seeing what happens to begin with, and some reading too. Safale website says sprinkle yeast on the surface. Wetting up makes sense though. Looks like another research topic for me. As for dryhop I’m on it 😁 so many possibilities.

@@thelazybrewer9678 It's such a fun hobby. I live in New Zealand and would absolutely love to get one of these machines, although I am not sure if they sell them this far. As far as the yeast goes, definitely hydrate the yeast before putting it in. Just make sure the vessel is sterile of course. Happy brewing. As for dry hopping, the more hops the better in my opinion. Happy brewing :)

Thank you for sharing this video! I've made a few homebrews the "conventional" way. I'm interested in the MiniBrew because I hate the normal cleanup and all of the work to make the "conventional" brews. This video says it's a year old, are you still liking the MiniBrew? It's my understanding that you need to have a subscription to make everything work properly, and that you can find lots of different recipes online. Can you confirm this? I'm not looking for specific recipe details, but what kinds are available? Can this make Lagers, or is it Ale only? (lower fermentation temps required for Lagers) Are there any Lambic recipes? How many different recipes are there? (realizing that this probably changes constantly)

I have not brewed in over a year. My minibrew gathers dust. The reason is mainly cost. Pro membership is €90 per yr. so you need to be active. Brew packs of pre-prep recipe are around €20-€30 for 5litres of beer from Europe. Postage is shocking from to UK!!! Say €25 per pack if you order 3😳! That’s €50 for 15 bottles. With some consumables, say, €3.50 per bottle and you still need to make it. Recently they have sorted the UK problem by partnering with Malt miller and you can get a lager kit for around £21. £1.40 a bottle ( a lot more than I pay for a BrewDog). Ingredients only is much cheaper but you need pro membership. If you do 15 brews a year then that’s £0.40 per bottle on membership. Bulk buy and pro membership is the way to go. Will still probably cost around £1 per bottle but will be your own unique creation. Buy one if you love to create and like a simple life with an app running the process. Don’t buy to save money making beer. Lots of folk share recipes you can clone and tweak! I have some malt miller kits in the shed now ready to get me going again soon. I’ll post every beer I make soon. Good luck!

Enjoy your Christmas pressie but check on delivery times. Mite take a long time to get to you. And yes, the community post lots of recipes and you can use and make your own versions of anything on there. That’s the pro portal that you pay a subscription for. Anything you make will be on there too. It’s up to you if you publish for the community. Good luck with it.

  • @thelazybrewer9678

Thanks 🙏! Water hookup was really easy with a small bit of knowledge on push fit plumbing. It needs a type of connection that you would use to connect a fridge. It has a small hose of about 10mm. You can connect to the end of a tap with a special fitting but then you can’t use the tap.

@@thelazybrewer9678 The water salts are easy. You just need a mineral profile of your water, if you buy mineral you already have it. Then you just need to google the water profile for the style you are brewing. Put both information in a calculator (beersmith and similar). And you get how much salt to add, easy. But in my opinion it's a last step, when your brew is already really good, then you can think about water correction.
