THE EASY WAY TO CUT EXHAUST & INSTALL OR REPLACE CATALYTIC CONVERTER

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here’s a how to on cutting exhaust pipe to install a new catalytic converter on a diesel pickup so I can pass emissions here in Arizona, I’ll show you how to use the exhaust pipe cutter and how to install a new universal cat on your vehicle for the 2019 year emissions laws in Arizona and btw it passed with no problem, the tool I rented was pretty dull so with a new exhaust pipe cutter it should go pretty quick for you. Ask any questions if you have any and thanks for watching! Always wear safety glasses!
Thought I'd jump on KZread and show ya how to cut exhaust pipe with and exhaust pipe cutter and install or replace catalytic converter on your own vehicle, the exhaust pipe cutting tool is a must have if you are going to replace or install a catalytic converter on your vehicle, I rented my exhaust pipe cutter from the local big chain auto parts store.
Here is a link to the tool if you need to order one from amazon!

That cutting tool he's using, is horrible. The one I rented was dull so I bought a cheap saw at Harbor Freight to cut the pipe instead. It was worth the $20 for sure.

I was told by a mechanic that I can not just change my cat.. then I was told I have a couple of cats. I asked how do you know which cat to change. He said just change both of them. Somebody please tell me the truth somebody. Oh… 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0

  • @Azkeyguy

Well depending on the positioning of the cats. The universal ones might not be the best fit, and yes they are really expensive, but a good mechanic should be able to pin down the one that isn't working properly by what the 02 sensors are saying. Are you getting 02 sensors codes or what's the reason he wants you to change them? Mechanics like to lie to lady's since they aren't as well versed on vehicles, but good on your for doing your own research! How come they need to be changed?

@@gailglady795 sorry for the late response, that code is a code for the EGR valve, exhaust gas recirculation, which shouldn't affect the cats, and the egr valve may just be getting plugged, which without being with the vehicle it's hard for me to diagnose it, but another thing is your cats are worth alot of money, so maybe they want to replace your cats thinking you'll leave the old ones there, and they can get a couple hundred dollars scrap price for the precious metals, platinum and others, in the catalytic converter, so I would definitely get another opinion! And if you do end up having to change your cats, definitely keep them and take them to the scrap yard or call a scrap guy from Facebook because they are worth quite a bit. Ya something sounds fishy to me
