I made this for my best friend to give it to him mom as a birthday present. I made it into a wider shawl and she can't stop telling her son how much she loves it. It's a really beautiful pattern.

I love ANY project that I can use Oasis. It's pure luxury any project with Oasis has a high end feel. I'm hoping for a Oasis fade sets. Its not always easy to just pick several skeins that go well. It would be totally worth it. Another beautiful pattern from the Expression Fiber Arts Team!!!❤❤

Beautiful pattern. My only suggestion is that you promote this as “adding beads to your knitting” but only demo adding one bead. If this is new to you (as it was for me), then you’d like to see it demo’d more than once AND also see how the beading looks as you develop the pattern.

Tim kills me with his BEAUTIFUL choices of music as the background to the TUTORIAL parts. It’s what made me want to learn to knit after being a lifelong crocheter… the beautiful music behind the instructions changed everything for me. It made something new and scary seem softer, whimsical, hopeful and less intimidating!! No other tutorials have I found do it like this. All the others are like sitting in technical school. 🙄🥱 Please tell Tim I said AWESOME job and of course the pattern is lovely and videography award worthy. Thanks, as always you two! 👍🏻👍🏻

Always enjoy watching your videos. Two small things that would have made it better (IMHO). Having a bigger swatch started before you start the teaching video so it wasn't so "fiddley" and to make it a little easier to watch. Also, being as the video title says about adding beads, it would have been nice to show adding beads more than just the one time. Thanks for all your teaching videos!!

Generally with a fingering-weight pattern, you can use a size 6/0 seed bead.

I know I’m late to the videos, I’ve been binge watching and hooked. I crochet but my love is for knitted things. Your videos helps encourage me to take the steps to start learning to knit. I’ve ordered patterns and got my free Friday ones, thank you so so much for those, and have purchased my first EFA yarn. I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment but I’m a little confused and it more than likely has everything to do with my lack of knitting knowledge but on the wrong side you state you are going to purl all the way across but on the written instructions posted on the videos (I’m a little rusty on written, sorry for that) all WS [p1,k1] 7 times, p1 SM P [p1,k1] 7 times, k1. Am I miss understanding something or missing something?

Hi Trudella, thank you for your message. I'm happy to help! The full sample also includes a seed stitch border on all sides, that Chandi skipped in her swatch tutorial. In the tutorial she's only working the lace section of Arden, all stitches of that section are purled on the WS. But to get the pretty look of the seeds stitch on both sides you will need to [k1,p1] 7 times at the beginning of RS row and [p1,k1] 7 times at the end of RS rows. Similarly you will need to [p1,k1] 7 times at the beginning of WS rows and [k1,p1] 7 times at the end of WS row. I hope this makes sense and isn't too confusing. Please, let me know if you have any additional questions! 💕

For beading a size 0.6 mm or 0.75 mm crochet hook will work well with size 6/0 beads and most yarns (lace, fingering, some sport and DK weights).

I thought the same...then I noticed the highlighted P I then realized the p1, k1 is the seed stitch info.

How do you add beads to a crochet project? Probably much the same concept. I might have to experiment.
