Beyond Ambient Light
A One-on-One Online Photography Workshop
The aim of this 1-HOUR long workshop is to develop your vision and style with the use of off camera flash.
I will discuss with you habits you should be developing before you actually click that shutter as well as the basics of off-camera flash photography, light manipulation and posing. Then finally, we will implement these learnings through what I call ‘DeConstruction’. I guarantee you it will be a fun way to learn and will be a critical step to improving your photography.

Nice big umbrella. Somehow, it’s easy to forget they do such a nice job, are light, and easy to handle. Thanks for the reminder.

A really interesting explanation that’s different from how most people explain things. We are all taught that the closer the light is to the subject the softer the light will be. Simple enough, the ratio of light source to subject becomes greater. We also know that the closer the light source is to the subject, the more rapid the fall off will be, (inverse square law). You are the only one to join up the dots! The more rapid the fall off, the greater the contrast. I’m sure that for most people that is actually counterintuitive. Surely if the light source is closer and softer, how can it be more contrasty? People really need to remember and understand the inverse square law.
