if you have officer chair then becarful warning this officer chair will explode easily with oxygen but if you sit the chair then it EXPLODE

This is actually a very smart fix especially considering the issue with uncertified lift cylinders running around. Carefully discharging one and then drilling holes to install screws is a fix if you don't want to buy another cylinder or can't find one the right size. Tapping the hole and putting a higher grade bolt in would be even smarter because it could withstand the weight if you are a heavier person.

Another method is getting a bunch of hose clamps, stacking the screw parts of each of them on top of each other, sitting on the chair and pulling the gas lift's handle upwards to make the chair sink faster, and then checking the height of the chair, if it's good to go then re allign the clamps and screw them into place If you need to remove/add clamps it's totally up to you The clamps on their own will rest on the cylinder's base and their screw parts will prevent the chair from sinking into them due to their thickness But tighting them is only for the sake of preventing them from misaligning

I used to see this method done when I was a kid. The awful hard as a rock munchkin sized "office" chairs that were used at my school in the computer lab were all done like this. Talk about back and ass pain. Mmmmmn, resin and hard plastic my favorite for "posture and correct typing methods" XD

The only problem is because of what the screws are made of eventually the force will snap them and you will end up smashing back down again while you’re sitting in it

That part of the chair never has any gas there to begin with. It's the chamber connected to it that has the gas.

You can thight with some cloth too easy more then this

That wont last long and might probably cause more damage to the black part, there is an item online and it can lock it to the desiref height without causing damage
