Strumming patterns are the hardest part with Guitar playing, but it helps once you can hear it once you have actually done it correctly. The way guitar is taught is sort of strange compared to doing it, but I guess it's all we have.

I’m a very new beginner at guitar. I watched another tutorial on this song and they started it with an open low E. It kind of reminds me of heart of gold. Now every time I try to play horse with no name, my mind goes to heart of gold and I mess the strumming all up and get confused. I was doing much better before I watched the other tutorial. Wish I’d just watched this one a few more times. It’s great.

Thank Youuuuuuuu I got it!!!! I'm just learning and I learned the Em chord A,D,and you made it so easy to follow you. You took your time to show the finger placement which is a Tremendous Help when you have beginners. The strum pattern was easy to follow you going slowly the way that you did. I will be practicing this lesson over and over till I can change chords with ease. Thank you for not having a bunch of distraction behind or around you,the best thing is that you only focus on your playing and finger placement,oh and also helpful is you tell us the number of the string too totally helpful!!!👍🤗😀

This is one of my favorite songs and I'm a beginner and have wanted to learn this so long. I practice guitar after my kids go to bed when I get enough motivation. You make it seem so easy and I think I'll be able to actually play a song now. Thank you!

After how many years I've been trying to start learning some sumple cords and voila! I find this guy on 9/17/21 and actually understand what the I just strummed. Thank you!!!!!

I been playing 35 years and don't teach but I have taught one cousin years ago and now a second cousin and I wanted to find proper instructions and clear easy fun lessons for him to work on away from when I'm not teaching him. People usually quit because of frustration and not having fun.

I just picked up my first ever guitar today. I have absolute 0 knowledge of how or what a guitar is. I just want to say thank you for ACTUALLY starting from the ground and building to this point. Hey guys, I borrowed an ukelele from a friend, and in literally 1 day I'm already playing songs (since they're like 3 easy chords). So maybe it's an alternative for those who just *can't* with guitar. I really thought I would never be able to play any instrument, but with the ukelele it seems possible.

I’m really happy that this song came to me naturally before i even started watching videos

My big problem with chords is that one of my fingers are always touching another string and it messes up the sound of the string my finger is touching. For example: If I’m playing the Em chord I can do the 5th string one, but when I do the 4th string one I touch the 3rd string…maybe my fingers are too fat, idk.

Its probably the tuning, apparently this song uses D-E-D-G-B-D wich he didnt mention.

I just happened upon this video and I felt like giving some encouragement. When I started playing the guitar I hated it. I did not want to learn for myself but I was in middle school and I thought girls would think it was cool so I kept practicing. I had to use my sisters guitar and she hated it so I had to sneak it away from her to practice. I’ve been playing for 15 years now and I absolutely fell in love with the guitar. When it feels like you want to give up or there’s too many things to learn just continue to push forward and learn easy songs like this one. Your fingers will develop muscle memory and sooner or later you won’t even have to look at the guitar when you’re playing. It’s worth the effort everybody! It’s a beautiful instrument.
