"The Earthing Movie: The Remarkable Science of Grounding" is directed by Sundance Award-Winning filmmakers Josh and Rebecca Tickell (The Big Fix, FUEL, etc). This is a feature-length documentary based on their viral short film entitled 'Down To Earth,' that reveals the scientific phenomenon of how we can heal our bodies by doing the simplest thing that a person can do…standing barefoot on the earth.
The winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at Dances With Films Festival, the film shares the Tickell family's journey with the healing power of grounding, aka earthing, and the people they met and learned from along the way; featuring grounding pioneer Clint Ober, author Deepak Chopra M.D., actress/activist Amy Smart, author/activist Mariel Hemingway, cardiologist Dr. Stephen Sinatra, renowned healer Dr Joseph Mercola, engineer and physicist Gaetan Chevalier, PhD. and many others.
Over 20 peer-reviewed studies have shown that Grounding (Earthing) reduces inflammation...one of the most damaging internal biological processes that leads to chronic disease. So get out there and put your feet on the ground, and/or increase your grounding time indoors with grounding products. Your body and mind will thank you! Read up on all the studies and research at earthinginstitute.net
Watch this Q&A with Mother and Filmmaker Rebecca Tickell as she shares her family's healing grounding experience, which ultimately led to the film being made:

I have suffered from Venus pools in my legs for years. I tried compression socks (per doctors recommendation) I’ve elevated my legs at work as often as possible. I’ve taken supplements: grape seed extract, etc with no lasting pain relief. My wife had me watch this documentary and I was impressed with the facts and no hocus-pocus snake oil promises. I started to ground at work (Behind the shipping and receiving) 15 minutes twice a day (Coworkers would laugh and make fun of me) but in 1 week I saw significant improvement. In one month all the ugly bulging veins disappeared. no more pressure or feeling of heaviness in my legs. Now I walk proudly to the grassy area behind shipping and my coworkers can laugh all they want. I’m cured with zero pain in my legs and i did it with no surgery or medication! I will ground for the rest of my life!

@@ziporatankel12 You don't need the groundsheets unless you're indoors. Just find an open space with clean earth or grass, and stand there for at least 15-30 mins every day. Before I learnt about grounding, I used to go to a little stream near our place, dip my feet into that stream where the bottom has pebbles, and stand there for at least 15-20 mins. If I had any pains in my feet, legs, or body, just after 15 mins I would feel those pains go away ;)! So start grounding yourself whenever you could! I was sitting here listening to this broadcast today and a huge realization hit me. We were raised in a very family; the mother was abusive on physical mental and psychological levels, all day, every single day. I actually had a very spiritual experience at the age of 7. When the mother was at her most violent stage, I disappeared into a white, brilliant, glittering doorway. I could hear nothing and and see nothing. When I came out of it, her anger had subsided to a large degree. However, I also stayed out of the house as much as possible. We were surrounded by woods and I was always in the woos, lying in the grass, always barefoot and at night I would sneak out of the house with my blanket and pillow and sleep in the grass. I loved the earth and grass. I haven't done that in a long time and I need to get back to feet on the earth, in the grass, laying in the grass with the sun shining on my body. I suddenly realized how I missed that. I was also the only sibling who came out of that childhood without being a total wreck. I had some issues I had to get over, but my siblings never did, but they were never outside with me, in the grass, sleeping outside. That saved my life literally. So, I paused this program for a while, went outside, put my chair in the grass, sat down with bare feet on the ground, closed my eyes, listened to the birds (I live in the middle of the Ocala National Forest. It was heavenly! I will do this every day, several times a day. Thank you for this programming. I am now 81 and this will be so incredibly helpful for me.

@lynnfletcher7152 I have a similar background as you Lynne. I spent most of my summer days running in the woods (barefoot), dangling my feet in the creek and laying on the softest mossy creek bank. Anything to not be in the house. I didn't really think about the fact that I did that barefoot back then. It also came back to me when watching this documentary. (I am 62.) I also went almost immediately out to my lawn and sat down in the grass barefoot and let my legs rest on the ground. I nearly got tears in my eyes. It felt so good! I had my 2 year old grandson visiting the next day. He is VERY energetic. He rarely ever sits still for more than 30 seconds. He loves to go outside, so I took his shoes off him and took him outside with me. We both sat on the ground together. He sat there with me for maybe 10 minutes. He was so calm! I will definitely do this with him (and by myself) as often as I can!

Lynne, you are so lucky to be living near or in a forest. Just get a small mat or even a little over-used blanket that is as big as you. Lay it on the ground or on the grass, and lay down there for at least 30 mins. While lying down, listen to all the sounds of the birds, insects, and little animals in the forest. Be at one with the earth -- and you will notice that you'll get better every day including your demeanour.

AG Dayem even if you just stand good healthy soil it will work wonders. You don’t necessarily need to walk around barefoot all the time as much as just giving yourself some time with the earth. Think of it like when you ground yourself for static electricity before you touch your computer or electronics that need to be grounded. It doesn’t take much. Just find a nice area in your backyard that has some nice healthy soil maybe get it a little wet and stand on it for just even 10-15 minutes will work wonders. If you do decide to walk around barefoot all the time your feet will automatically callus up I get really hard and protect you. Our bodies are amazing with amazing abilities.

@Randolph Stead Randolph, just from reading your comment I can recommend something that will fundamentally change your life - instead of Opiod pain killers, please try Kratom my friend. The bonus is that you will gain energy from it and your garden/gardening work will benefit greatly. A woman I know was beat up by a very large man once, and since then she has had chronic neck pain and even nerve damage and slipped discs etc. She was on Percocet for 15+ years every day, and Kratom got her off the Percs permanently. You can even grow the Kratom tree in your yard if you’re above Zone 4a. I will never again touch an opioid pain killer because Kratom is so far superior it’s a no-brainer. I broke/fractured some 15+ bones growing up and another 5 in my hand last year and I turned down the prescription and just drove to the tobacco shop in town and bought 500 grams of Red Maeng Da Kratom.

I'm 55, from India. I practice walking barefoot on earth, grass, the beach, etc. Daily. Wherever and whenever I can. Many a time, my whole 60-min morning walk is barefoot. I always knew that going barefoot was extremely beneficial for our health. But I didn't know these many details about WHY so. This is a great documentary, and should be made a compulsory part of the school curriculum. A BIG ThankYou to Rebecca Tickell, Josh Tickell and team - for making this highly educative movie on Earthing! Gratitude to the pioneer Clint Ober - for making us realise all this systematically. By the way, in India, 30-40 years back - 95% of the locals and village folks used to be barefoot always. Yes, they never wore footwear. Today, only say 1~2% of the village folks go barefoot. Also, in our temples - we need to take off our footwear before entering. No footwear inside the entire temple premises. So that's a good way to ensure that you get grounded whenever you visit your temples. And yes, the ancient temples all had raw earth floors throughout, and natural stones for the pathways.

I still do my morning, daily sun/feet "soak" and I absolutely love the benefits. If the sun and ground can create electricity, it can do much more! Thank you for this video!

I have been suffering from adrenal fatigue, massive anxiety, nervous tension and irritability for 18 months now. I have been taking daily all kinds of expensive supplements, vitamins and minerals, doing a heavy metal detox for 6 months, going weekly to an acupuncturist, doing acupressure on myself and still I am able to do only the minimum during the day, unable to work and I had to go live with my dad feeling absolutely exhausted and useless in this world. All of a sudden a few days ago when I started to spend time in my dad’s garden with him, I started to feel more energized and more alive. Today I even did some weeding for a couple of hours. I was exhausted afterwards and had to lay down a few times on the grass to rest, but I felt alive again like a 39 year old woman and not like a zombie. When I watched this movie, I cried so much because I am so grateful for this message of hope. Prior to getting sick, I used to be very energetic, bubbly and on the hyperactive side. Then I lived in a van on a campground in the cold mountains and I bought an electric heating blanket that was plugged in every night for almost 2 years to keep me warm at night and I wasn’t walking bare feet very often. Then I got sick with chronic exhaustion. It’s incredible how you can live in nature and yet be totally disconnected from Mother Earth by constantly wearing shoes and sleeping on an electric heating blanket. I think I have the recipe to become healthy again ❤ Thank you

Three years ago, I was inspired by an ex to start going outside barefoot. Today, when there isn't snow on the ground, I spend most of my time barefoot. My soles have toughened and my feet have become comfortable on any terrain. I get a lot of comments when people meet me on hiking trails, everything from "you are awesome" to "do you need help". Until I watched this video, I thought it was just a thing I liked to do... but now I see there is much more to it. There are legitimate physical health benefits to doing this. I was diagnosed with MS 6 years ago and have refused prescription treatments for it... although I wasn't doing it intentionally, I am sure that (along with the intentional healthier eating and lifestyle) earthing myself has played a huge role in keeping me healthy. Summers are when I feel the absolute best and they are when I spend the most time with my feet in the dirt. It is such a simple thing to do, I really think everyone should spend more time with their feet in the dirt

Sharing in case this helps someone: I had clinical depression for over 30 years. Then I started working as a professional gardener because I couldn’t handle the stresses of my former professional life. (I didn’t work barefoot, but my hands were frequently in dirt.) After just a couple weeks I realized my mood had significantly lifted. After about 6 months my depression was gone. I believe that my depression was cured due to rewiring of my brain. This was partly grounding, and likely also from getting more vitamin D, negative ions, peaceful and beautiful environments, no drama, and strenuous physical labor. I continued taking depression medication for over a year, then was able to be weaned off of it. (This was my experience, but hopefully others will be very careful about coming off depression meds… I tried several times before this and wasn’t successful. Please be careful.) I’m not gardening professionally anymore, but I’m grateful for the healing process those 2 years brought me. I’m so glad to be healed of depression- I didn’t think that would ever happen. Months later, Editing to add: I still find that it’s necessary to keep doing regular (4 days/week, 2+ hours/day) strenuous activity such as gardening to MAINTAIN my mental health and keep depression away. If I stop, unfortunately I have found that depression creeps back in. So I urge those who have depression to not to stop taking antidepressants prematurely, and unless very committed to a very high level of relaxed but strenuous exercise, such as gardening.

I purposely moved near the beach for this very reason; grounding. I walk over there at least 2x a week. I go thigh-high in the water, and I bury my feet in the sand. I can always feel a difference, afterwards. This is a very good documentary. Thanks for sharing. 😊 I'm sending love and light to everyone that reads this. Asè. 🕉💞

yes and a beautiful majestic awesome Earth that is so powerfully healing. The Apostle Paul says in Corinthians That he uses the things that are nothing to bring to nothing the things that are and leave it to God to use completely absolutely free energy from the earth that he created to be able to completely heal you of all your pains and what not and restore your health...and the negative energy is in the Earth which is just at the center of a gigantic battery -an electrolytic cell with ocean water for electrolysis surrounding it, and the positive "terminal" at the outside...

My mom sent this video to me a couple days ago, I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I was reading the comments and was like "ya, right" well yesterday I decided to try it. I went barefoot in the grass and sat in it, at my moms by the lake, for about 10 mins, Later on in the day, I felt so good, just happy and full of optimism, back pain went away, I breezed thru my exercise routine ( cardio, yoga and weights) with little effort, I felt good and energized and pain free, I thought to myself, I didn't take anything, why am I felling so good and then I remembered I grounded that morning, now I'm hooked I just went outside my apts and theres a huge field behind this place and took off my shoes and did it again. Walking and laying in the grass, my lower back was killing me, now its not, it's like a miracle, I'll do it whenever, wherever if it make me feel this good all the time. I have to use alot of sunscreen, I am fair redhead, I burn from 5 Mims in sun, so I was burnt last night, worth it tho!

You can do 'Earthing' ANY time of day, even the dead of night! And you can rig things so you can even do it whilst sleeping in your bed INSIDE! You can either purchase or make an earthing sheet or mat (the latter you can put bare feet on while sitting). Thee must be attached via electrical-conducting wire to a typical metal water pipe, (my DH attached his to the metal window frame on our MH), orone can put it out a window & attach it to a metal grounding peg.

The fact that an entire documentary needed to be made to “prove” the benefits of humans connecting to the earth is insane. Indigenous cultures have always known of the importance of being one with nature. The materialistic world we live in today only takes us further and further away from our true selves. It’s making us weaker by removing us from the earth. Everything is covered by buildings, concrete, and parking lots. We need to return to a simpler way of living. We need to heal so the earth can heal.

More to the point, I find it a kind of whinging that people complain about how stupid humanity is to have strayed from the goodness of Mother Earth when in fact that’s a strawman argument because nobody refuted it but just that in this case, it’s simply not practical to go around barefoot all day. And yet here we have another of those “magical discovery (oh wow!)” video that’s really offering nothing more than snake oil.

I got shot 10 years and had non stop chronic pain ever since with countless procedures and medication gave to me by my dr to mask the symptoms. Gambling and opioid addiction made it even worse on me mentally. Lost Everything. It took alot of changes to get my optimism for life back. Started taking cold showers eating the best i can started to get hope again that i would be ok . Ever since i started grounding my faith has risen significantly. I feel so much more hope that one day my pain will melt away if i keep doing what i have to do, i thought id be stuck in that depressed mind state forever was very scary . Now i get pumped up about what my future is going to be like no matter how bad my financial and personal life is right now . I see the light at the end of the tunnel

It is also striking how very un down to earth the human race is with the endless demands on the planet, grounding may help resolve that situation, coming down to Earth without a crash landing.

OMG really through tears. I saw your comment and as I'm watching a deep emotion overwhelmed my whole body because I've been grounding since I was a child always barefoot & always lived on the west coast just a few miles from the ocean. I was always at the beach laying in the sand or surfing in the water, I was never sick and never had aches and pains at that time I thought it was just natural until I started working at 18yrs young and had to wear shoes as a blue collar worker didn't really know in the 70s that grounding kept me healthy. Being I was wearing rubber soul shoes or safety boots for protection that is when I started wearing down and had backaches & at 30yrs young I had an Laminectomy cause of protruding disks at 5th lumbar. very very painful. at that time I never thought about grounding cuz of the work ethics and TV programming and big pharma experimenting with pain pills and remedies that just further tears down the body and immune system.. But not one doctor ever brought up the point of grounding and how it heals the body and of course because they can't make money on a healthy people so they push all these dangerous pharmaceuticals which in turn might help with a problem but later down the road other symptoms pop up as you all have seen the commercials and the dangerous side effects which create more problems then within a year or more end up taking 20 different problems that was caused by experimental drugs why because the FDA approves it for profits. It's all a big game to keep you going through the revolving door of big pharma. Another example while grounding is an EESystem. Healing at the cellular level Naturally ! www.eesystem.com/ EEsystem Transmission - Enhanced with 528hz Solfeggio Music & Frequencies don't have to watch it just have it running on your computer. There is also EEsystem videos without the frequency enhancements. I just use this one because of the 528hz that connects to the earths vibrations. Enjoy because it's time to wake up and smell the roses and Not the indoctrination of gov

Grounding is not just having your naked feet on the earth. It is also having your hands in the dirt and your entire body outside in the sun. Being outside, gardening, touching the earth and planting living plants or seeds makes us happy, literally. Endorphins are produced in our body and nourish us, and we feel balanced and happy. Remember though, everything in moderation: do not lie out in the blazing sun for long times! Nature needs to be respected, and what that means is, we need to know what is the right amount of anything. Wearing sun screen all the time is bad for us: we need the sunshine to touch our skin, to receive vitamins! Just not too much at one time, therein lies the secret! Mostly, the way Mother Nature packages nutrients is the right amount. We are, after all, made of the same "stuff" as she is. So, whatever grows in nature (fruits, veggies, roots) is compatible with us. Of course, there are plants humans cannot consume. We need to learn (again) what is and what is not edible. Eating whole foods, unprocessed, is best, and raw is the best of all. Even if you grow just one edible plant on your balcony or window sill, when you eat it, you will feel the connection with Mother Nature. Try it! And if you do not have a yard, go to a lovely park some place at least 15 minutes every day, on your way to or from work. Sit there in the grass, touch the earth, observe one blade of grass close up, watch one beetle crawl around and wonder how it fits into the whole scheme of the Universe, where its place is... and where your place is, too! Happiness will happen, guaranteed!

I think it was in the book "Parasites" by Kathleen McCauliffe that researchers were sent down South to scout out the region for industrial development. (By Henry Ford, I think.) They discovered that the South's reputation for laziness was because of hookworm. Once the solution was at hand, lives were changed and the South became an economic powerhouse once again. So-- we need to pay attention to what else is living on the earth!

Grounding has to be the most fundamental change physiologically that we can do instantly. And that’s why this knowledge is being challenged and suppressed. If we all did this we would reach peace on earth. Look at the traditional cultures worldwide. Thank you so much for making this information available. My 9 yr old piano student convinced me to watch this video. I will be forever grateful. Thank you. Thank you thank you ✨

This concept is really amazing!!! Clint is right when he says get it in the hands of a woman & she'll heal her family. I ordered a kit & found that it worked for my lower back pain. After I experienced it, I bought one for my 75 yr old mom. She had rheumatoid arthritis in her shoulders, elbows & hands. After using the grounding mats from Clint Ober's site for about a month, now she's strong enough to open her own jars, work out & has no pain. I can't explain how it works but I know it works!!! I recently posted a video of her doing push-up's with Chef Babette. Thank God for Clint's ingenious invention for indoor grounding. Peace, love & blessings ✌🏾❤️🙏🏾

Wow, so cool. I've been using a grounding mat for just a few days and have had noticeably better sleep and relaxation (alpha waves). Interestingly, I was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer in 2018, and my white blood cell count was through the roof, and I also had blood clots all throughout my lungs. I didn't realize until I watched this documentary that the white blood cell count points to chronic and systemic inflammation everywhere in my body, thus why I had cancer. I knew I must've had bad inflammation to cause the cancer, but I didn't realize my white blood cell count confirmed that. Also makes sense that my blood would clot because RARELY would spend time in nature. Had to overhaul my diet and spiritual state to reduce my inflammation since then, so I'm excited to learn how grounding can take our collective health to another level!

I'm in Colorado, I first learned about grounding from Dave Asprey about 10 years ago, but I really didn't take it seriously until I watched this movie about a month ago. I fractured a vertebrae in my neck when I was a kid, it didn't heal properly and it became massively arthritic. I have had chronic pain and headaches for 30 years. I got a simple mat to put my feet on when I'm sitting and I have been using a grounded pillowcase to sleep on. After about the third night of using the pillowcase, I noticed that my neck appeared to be completely healed. The pain was completely gone and my range of motion increased easily by at least 20% and with zero pain. For me this was nothing short of miraculous. I am completely addicted to earthing!

This explains why as a child I always connected with nature, always climbing trees, riding my bike, just being outdoors. We have come so far away from this in this concrete world that we live in. I hope everyone learns this message. The best part about this is it's free!

They also use poor sample sizes and poor methodology. Essentially pseudo science. I am glad you don't get sick though! I would also take a food sensitivity test to see which foods your body is reacting to to help expedite your healing. I was diagnosed with moderate chronic colitis about 15 years ago. The diagnosis is basically “your colon is inflamed and we don’t know why..so take these anti-inflammatory pills till they stop working then we’ll cut your guts out”. Also, slippery elm bark powder and turmeric mixed in warm water really help when you are flaring. I hope these things combined with grounding give you relief!

My best wishes to you to heal yourself by connecting with nature. My mom had ulcerative colitis about 15 years... she being a strictly prescription drugs and doctors' advice only person she never tried any alternate therapies. From what I have observed in her case ... giving up entire food groups and being paranoid about food cooked by others is not a solution. Try keeping a food diary and play around with anything that you feel like eating and relax.... make time for yourself and enjoy life. Be conscious of your gut biome and have natural pre and prebiotics.... Watch the videos by Dr. Eric Berg and if possible try some lifestyle alterations.

It's impossible that it reduced that much on its own based on the last weeks being sick and years dealing with it. I look forward to seeing if it improves more tomorrow after another night Grounding. I will finish my soursop tea and close my eyes with feet on mat.😊

That is so interesting. My mother grew up on a farm and she told me a story of her small dog bring bitten by a rattlesnake and the dog dug a hole and lay down in it and covered itself with dirt and lay there sick for a few days and then one day it jumped up and was perfectly fine. I never understood why this helped the dog and now I do.

So I tried earthing one time and the first thing I noticed was when I went back in the house and washed my feet I noticed my feet felt great! I didn’t put two and two together but I am now back on this and hoping my pain I am having will go away. It makes complete sense to me why this would work!

Is this were the idea of “grounding” kids came from? 🤔 maybe instead of sending them to their rooms they should be going outside in the grass disconnected from technology.

  • @milo_thatch_incarnate

@@christinadrake669 - I think that would only be true if it was *commanded* like a punishment. Consider the difference between an angry or shouted "That's it, go outside! You're grounded, and you don't come back in until I say so!" or a calm "I think it will be good for you to go outside. It will help both of us calm down, and then we can talk about this again in a bit. Please go outside now, I'll call you in when you seem ready. Try to think about why you did/said ___."

I Download this movie recommended by my friend, and decided to listen to it while I was in the garden.. it was perfect timing! I kicked off my shoes, took off one of my gloves, and let myself greet the earth! I’ve always loved being barefoot on grass or on a beach.. I will endeavour to do that all the more! Truly miraculous that so many claim to be healed from all kinds of things simply by grounding

Been barefoot most of my life - grew up in the beach and never liked shoes. I’d guess I wear shoes on average less than an hour a day. And even a lot of that is just so I don’t get odd looks (like in shops). I remember walking a trail once and a friend from the US just couldn’t believe I could do it barefoot without pain from sticks, rocks, pebbles etc.
