The Earth is my Mother(Ancient chant)

The Earth is my Mother Ancient chant of old time whit power
The earth is our mother,
We must take care of her.
The earth is our mother,
We must take care of her.
Chorus: Hey yanna, ho yanna, hey yan yan.
Hey yanna, ho yanna, hey yan yan.
Her sacred ground we walk upon
With every step we take.
Her sacred ground we walk upon
With every step we take.
Chorus
The earth is our mother,
She will take care of us.
The earth is our mother,
She will take care of us.
Climate change still threatens the lives and incomes of millions of people.
Climate change is disastrous for humans of this world. Hurricanes, droughts and floods: the weather is getting more extreme. Governments and companies are doing far too little to stop climate change.
That can not continue. Time for action!
We need to take care of the Earth. It's all we have.

This chant is really beautiful. I've been listening to it repeatedly for several hours. It is wonderful to see our cosmic mother reclaiming her throne. For humanity to be truly free, the yin and yang energies must be in a completely balanced state. Peace to those waking up to their innate divinity. Salaam!

oh man, you don't know how many times I have heard the native american people sing of mother earth, pachamama, its SOOOOOO amazing to hear my own people remembering and raising their voices in joy once again... may All the siblings, children of our mother be blessed!

  • @WinyanStaz1
    @WinyanStaz17 жыл бұрын

This song has been changed by changing the ending chorus. That's not the original chorus. It is a Native American song originally..the chorus goes Ke'a Wakan, langa-langa, moe ha-tay Hi-yah-no, hi-ya-no, hi-yah-no. Which means, "We are One in the infinite sun, together, forever and ever. (which means the chorus is just the first verse repeated but in Native tongue. ) Then it goes into "the Earth is my Mother, we must take care of her...and the chorus is repeated...then it goes "The ground we walk is Sacred, with every step we take, the ground we walk is Sacred, with every step we take...followed by the chorus and the first verse again... I first heard this over 40 years ago......but no one minds who sings the song...I just wish to give credit to the ones who first gave the song....here in America...and it is native. When a person's Power Song is sung and shared, it often changes as it passes through different circles....just like in the childhood game of "whispers"...but it is good to give credit to the one who shared the gift in the first place when known.

***** Well, Pagan is a definition framed by the Church and basically includes all spiritual traditions outside of the Church. Thus, we have Atheists, Satanists and everyone else classified as Pagans. Personally I am torn between being proudly Pagan, and on the other hand wanting to dissociate from what has become a label, and a very general, misleading one at that.

Terri Tyrian Blessed Be, Terri. My view is that it is the Tree of the Great Goddess, and everyone on the tree is divine, a child of the Goddess within and without. Witches are the Priestesses and Priests of the Goddess of Nature, as it always has been. Yet paganism is a very, very big umbrella and not all 'Pagans' are part of the Goddess, at all.

Andrew S Hi Andrew - your'e speaking to someone who has repeatedly brought this topic up in debate and (often heated) conversation for some years now. You are quite right, Satanism is a very new religion which originates as a reaction against the Church. Satanism was invented by the Church as part of a fear-based control mechanism which tells us that there is a hell fire of eternal torment, administered by this Devil character, awaiting anyone who refuses to bow down to the supreme male God of the Church. Yet according to the official definition of 'Paganism' ie, the Church definition, it is everyone outside of the Church. This means that Atheists, Satanists and everyone else is Pagan according to this definition. This leads to a lot of confusion, and I am sure it is deliberate in many cases. To be Pagan means that you are a free spirit in tune with the currents of Nature; and do not believe in patriarchal dualism in any form or shape.

My soul sister and I were just having a discussion last week about how hard it is to be Pagan and live right in the Bible Belt. It's not that we were trying to rebel or anything like that. We were both raised Christian, she was actually raised Catholic but this is just stuff we knew from birth only to find later it was a spiritual path. It's wonderful to know that not all Christians find us to be evil. Thank you and Blessed Be.

And this song is not in contradiction of any religious testament as the earth is endowed by our creator as are the nations within it. In Christianity the earth is what God gave us to act upon while seeking the truth through salvation and we must respect ourselves, each other, our people and planet. In Islam, we cannot adhere to the pillars of Islam without respecting our planet. In Judaism, we must give Tzedaka charity, plant trees on Tubeshvat, respect the open earth during harvest sukkot in how we build the Sukkah, the grapes from the vine, bread from the wheat and flour from ground. Mother Earth is universal to all religious affiliations.

I do have appreciation for the diversity of Humanity, Earth, and ALL. I do not claim to have perfect understanding. Blessings! A fire was burning out of control here in the Columbia R, Gorge Washington State. At 4 am I was told to evacuate our home because the fire jumped the river. I called an Indian Shaman and asked her to talk to the Mother and ask for Her help. The Shaman said she would calm the element Air/wind and her son would take some of the heat out of the fire. Within 15 minutes the east wind immediately stopped. The fire stopped raging forward and our communities were saved from what could have been a horrific ending. Blessed Be! Love our Mother and She will take care of us. We are all Her children and She loves us. Blessed be!

+Xar Gas It is perfectly possible to take inspiration from and admire something you find beautiful... No need to force yourself to believe in the gods if it doesn't make sense to you :) The most important thing is what you find beautiful... There are many beautiful things within many different religions, as well as negative, unfortunately. Besides, many Neo-Pagans do not literally believe in the deities; they see them to be representations of ourselves and the nature around us. Be yourself and be good; that is true beauty - and that is the essence of what modern pagans try to be.

+katie horton I followed a similar path. A Christian by birth, I begun to search for answers as a child, never truly content with the ones I had. Finally I tapped my true roots at 17 and have never looked back. I am now 24. I finally feel I am as I should be, though it has driven such a wedge between my family and I since they don't seem to think that they should have to accept me for who I am. They feel that I should change for them rather than remaining true to myself.

I like this very much. It is incredible how they can sing so well with barely any music, yet many artists in mainstream pop music can hardly sing. You never hear songs like these on the radio. Strangely I went off to do other things and found myself back quickly to listen to it again, so edited this post. It echoes in your mind after you have turned it off. Amazing tune

I learned this chant over 40 years ago from Morning Glory. The refrain is Native American, and the entire chant was taught the me as Native American, which means it isn't really an ancient chant of witches, but rather of those our ancestors murdered to create our own living space (Leibensraum, anyone? I'm not certain of the spelling since it's in German-Hitler's "justification" for invading Poland.)

I recently found out mu dad’s side of the family was filled with brujas and however I didn’t want to go as far as sacrifices and stuff like that but I still wanted to feel connected with my pass so I went with Wiccan religion because I fell upon the music and the books and I fell in love with it and realized if I was to do any witchcraft the best would be Wicca because I connect to it the most so thank you for putting this beautiful music up so I could learn more ❤️

Beautifully chanted. But why is this advertised as a pagan song, when it's a Native American chant? The indigeneous people of America have a beautiful culture that should be shared and respected. Not trying to stir things up, just dislike the false advertisement.

Not quite. Pagan, from the Latin "pagani", or country-dwellers, refers to the faith traditions which are either directly descendant from indigenous traditions or are modern efforts at bringing these faiths into the modern day. Hence, in the most accurate interpretation, both Native American faiths and Wicca are Pagan. Note the capital "P". Like the capital "C" in Christian.
