I wish my US e-Golf had LED Tail lights and the illuminated door sills like THE REST OF THE FUCKING WORLD. Get with it VW, we like nice things too in the US.

3:38 This 5+2 pin connector is standardised for AC 230V , AC 3 phase 400V and for DC high speed charging . So why it does not have 2 lower pins which enable it to chache on 3 phase socket . In my garage I have 3 phase 16A plug that I use for high power equipment . Also , for heating you do not need heater , but to invert A/C to heat instead to cool the car , as domestic air con does . VW did everything wrong to make EV .

I was also under the impression that the e-Golf used a heat pump system. insideevs.com/volkswagen-releases-details-2015-e-golf/ "Helping ensure optimal performance in cold weather is a newly developed heat pump. The pump uses both ambient air and heat from the drive system components to heat the cabin rather than relying solely on the high-voltage heater, helping to reduce on-board electrical consumption significantly, especially in winter driving."

Received my eGolf just over a week ago and here in Sweden, the heat pump comes as a standard equipment. It differs from country to country.

Good observation. I am in the UK. I think that maybe in colder climates they include it as standard.

Hi have a new e-golf. Does the range on the car vary per charge? I fully charged one day and it stated 145 miles, then a week later when fully charged it sadi 121 miles but it was colder. Does the range calculator make this calculation automatically or do I have some issues with the battery?

Has to do with your driving style so the computer calculats bases off how you drive and being cold does effect battery in winter times it's same for all EV cars

There is a heat pump in the US. The 2015 Limited did not have it but I think other models did. Not positive.

It's a premature technology. Beta mode. There's just too much that use electric power in a car. The stereo, lights, heater, the GPS screen etc. Before you know it you have spent 25% of your capacity just by standing still - and even more in low temperatures!

+ventende Are you stupid on purpose? Electric cars are not 'beta' technology, they're here and they've been here doubling in sales year-on-year. I sat in a BMW i3 with the heater, stereo, lights and screen on playing around with it WHILE STANDING STILL and after an hour I'd lost maybe 2.5% of the battery. An hour. With all the gadgets on. Sorry but the power the electrics use is NOTHING Compared to the energy used moving a vehicle. In Tesla Model S P85 you could leave the screen running for a month without running out of battery. You don't understand how big these batteries are, do you?

Of course its beta technology, or else they wouldn't be making large leaps each time a new model is released. Electrical cars are actually no more than release candidates and everyone that buys them are paying for the experiment. Everyone that bought electric cars yesterday wants to sell the next day as each new model is making progress. Bad investment. Just like buying software, its just one big beta until the next, and the next...and the next.

Yeah you're right, that GPS screen just gulps the power, that is why it is always hot to the touch...
