Doesn't matter what GMs find easy or not, in a classical game some missed opportunity in this game are really painful. Like no joke. I live in the Netherlands. And whenever I play with my non chess friends, their tactic is litteraly: "Koning naar voren" meaning "King forward". This was basicly every game I play with them

When I was a kid, I always opened with knight to h3, and one time my cousin and sister spent 3 hours unaware that no one can win when only the kings are left, so yes, I’ve seen and played dumber games.

I got one better. When I was a kid, I 'invented' my own opening. e4 Bd3 Qf3 Ne2 O-O. Then pushed the H pawn for good measure. Didn't want to get back ranked, after all. Played it every single game. It didn't work out well. I also remember someone stalemated me, and I informed them it was a draw, and they were like "Whatever, I won. I have more pieces."

So my achievement was playing a legit game where I got to play castles Queen side checkmate. That doesn’t happen much

I am a life long chess player that has only reached a max level of 900 at school related chess tournaments I have taken classes at library’s and also at public schools, I have to say, this channel has taught me more than all of my school years combined just the energy this man has speaks to me so easily I can understand everything that he is saying. Great job on your channel brother you are an amazing teacher.

Ngl this was the most legendary chess fight I've ever seen, felt like a serious sight to see everymove looks so weird that I didn't understand wtf was happening just like how real legendary battles was supposed to look to normal person's sight

When he says this is the dumbest game ever played but in reality these two players were thinking leagues beyond comprehension of the human mind, they were coming up with strategies and thinking so fast it was incredible.... or this truly is just the dumbest chess game ever played..

i guess Chirtophore Van De Loo didnt understand that moving his king to the edge of the board does not give him 84723589274194 queens

I stood up for a moment half way through. Then I came back, and I wondered how in the world white king got to the other side of the board without moving a single rook.

My eyes are literally burning right now. Oh wait, sorry, that's because I've been staring at the sun for 15 minutes now trying to forget what I saw. Thanks, Levy.

Part of me is wishing I could see this game on guess the elo and watch levy go absolutely mental

This might actually be my favorite GothamChess video ever. I was literally holding a cup of coffee and could not risk taking a sip for the last 5 minutes.

The dumbest game of chess I've ever played was some time in early may this year, I was playing white and got my king out in my first three moves and proceeded to do nothing but move my king closer and closer to my opponents side and was able to pull a kings mate. I know that it isn't a legal move but the fact I was able to get my king onto the other side of the board without using any other pieces to defend it, it felt like it was a deserved kings mate for me to do to my opponent

I totally enjoyed this! It'd be totally awesome to have know what the players' heart rates were on each move (Just when you though they've tracked every fact about a game . . . this one would be so fun to know). I also love how I'd never heard of either of these players. Keep up the awesome work Gotham!

This feels like a game where everything is or extremely planned out or nothing is planned and no one thought 2 steps ahead. What a beautifull game

That was a roller coaster I feel like a different person now

This just shows how complex chess can be honestly

When he said 'We're in the year 1983" I felt so relieved that it was not one of my games.

When white's dark-squared bishop gave check on g5, I had honestly forgotten white had a bishop and rooks that they could use since those pieces LITERALLY HADN'T MOVED ONCE BEFORE THAT POINT IN THE GAME

There are long stretches of this games where every single move is hilarious.

After that game white king: Where were you guys sleeping when I was fighting against an whole army? White pieces: Back rank problems, sir.

@@charljuliojonnemek2652 - Inhalation is one of fastest forms of exposure routes. It is why so many people use it to get high when they smoke pot, oxy, meth, etc. True story. Inhalation FTW!

Jesus Christ this was entertaining! xD Your delivery was spot on and you didn't miss a beat. I'm not that into chess but this was more entertaining than a lot of videos that are usually up my ally. Well done!

I laughed so hard after I see that evaluation bar moves madly hahah.

I wish I had the full game (this was over-the-board almost 10 years ago), but I once played a game in which I was completely winning 20 moves in, got impatient and blundered every piece except my Queen and a couple pawns (I was -20ish on material), but somehow I managed to start checking my opponent with my Queen again while avoiding threats from both his Queens and his Rook. My opponent saw no problem with getting checked because he was walking his King down to take my pawn on a4 anyway, and I won with the pawn on a4, the enemy King on a5 and my Queen on b5.

This is basically me playing chess acting like I knew what I was doing.
