The Drop-Cylinder Strong-arm (Done "Right") - A New Twist on an Old favorite

Фильм және анимация

"A new twist", indeed.
One of my first mods was inspired by the apparent lack of foresight of previous modders. While the Drop-Cylinder mod was incredibly popular for Mavericks and Strongarms alike, over the years, I never saw anybody maintain the use of the "Cylinder return ramp" to aid in reloads.
This relatively simple mod makes it a breeze to swap cylinders in a Strong-arm, and I highly recommend it to anyone who still rocks a drop-cylinder Strongarm load out.

    I made a drop cylinder mod and gotta admit, the spring ejection would have been damn useful, I went the classic route of glueing in the piece that holds the cylinder so you gotta put it in at a weird angle or just be a little rough with it to get it to cooperate

  • @MisterNathan

    @MisterNathan

    Yes, they kinda work. Technically functional. But the center locking pin isn't long enough to engage the front cylinder support, so the front of the cylinder assy doesn't lock into place, affecting reliability.

    I tried to re-create this and it's not working. The cylinder turning mech is pushing up on my rear grey piece, rather than the grey piece keeping it pressed. This makes it so that I still have to press the button to get the cylinder back in. How is your grey piece keeping the turning mech pressed in or sliding smoothly over it? Additionally, how did you get the ejection spring in there?

  • @MisterNathan

    @@MisterNathan the grey piece isn't flexing, it's just that there's enough space in the slot where the grey goes into the shell that it wiggles. Because of that space it doesn't properly ramp the turning mech. I think I need a shim of some sort, should I try some hot glue on the slot to eliminate the space?
