Now that I've done a bit digging to find out what this about, because I didn't have a clue, what Martin Bowler said in that video has gone on in filmed angling since it started. All the Len Gurd Total Fishing films with Matt Hayes. Kev Green, Dean Macey, John Wilson, that Scottish bloke. They've all "re-hooked", or played the fish again for a better shot. Some of the Thinking Tackle videos, where I actually saw a very famous and now former employee of Korda, was blanking like good un, and one of the Linear bailiffs gave him a fish to re-hook. Then, Ali, (yeah it was Ali) "played" a carp in on a zig. I saw it with my own eyes on B1 back in 2009. This sort of thing has been going on for years. So, please climb down from your ivory tower and wind your neck in 😂

@@AdamsAnglingTv with all the money that goes into making a tv show, or even a promotional film for a tackle company, if re-hooking, or replaying a fish means it's the only way "that perfect shot" is achieved, then, it has to be done. I know Chris Yates and Bob James have complained on several occasions of having to re-land the same fish over and over again, because the shot wasn't quite right, or for when the cameraman wasn't ready! 😂 So, this re-hooking thing has been going on all the time. Unfortunately, with social media, Mr I've Neverdonewrong, will immediately call Martin Bowler a cnut! 😂😂

Simply because professional anglers of all angling disciplines, lucky enough to work in television, or to promote a brand, have all done the same, or very similar.

I think you got your baiting strategy for on top vs. in the silt a bit backwards. If you fish chops and particle in softer silt with a heavy hookbait then all the freebies will stay on top while your hookbait is hidden below so you should be using whole boilies that will settle into the mud. Use lighter bits if you want to keep on top of the silt

I first met Martin Bowler on Unity Lake about 12 years ago. He was tench fishing. A real genuine bloke and a top top angler. Hell of a catch for Nash he is, fair play.
