Eckhart Tolle is widely recognized as one of the most original and inspiring spiritual teachers of our time. He travels and teaches throughout the world.
Eckhart is not aligned with any particular religion or tradition, but excludes none. His profound yet simple and practical teachings have helped thousands of people find inner peace, healing and greater fulfillment in their lives. At the core of his teachings lies the transformation of individual and collective human consciousness - a global spiritual awakening.
Eckhart Tolle is the author of The Power of Now, a #1 New York Times Bestseller, which has been translated into 32 languages and become one of the most influential spiritual books of our time.
In his most recent book, A New Earth, he shows how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world.

um...you need your "ego" to direct your will...without ego you won't be able to function very well in the world...I suggest its more important to give our focus on the moral law and philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas and his 'Summa Theologiae.' Now THAT IS worth studying...not this absurdity trying to pass off as "relevant." Honestly...just smdh

The mind always tries to trick us into believing that either we are too busy for mindfulness or that it's not working; but it does. If you stay thought-free daily, the result is more happiness, more awareness, gratitude, compassion, and being satisfied with what you have and who you are. What I've also noticed is that if you stay present on a daily basis, Life/God/Universe gives you creative impulses to manifest something good and helpful into the world, and you know it's nothing to do with you as a person but you are just used as a tool for the creative Universe to express itself.

Once you're lucid, everything around you is your sandbox. And everything you see is so awe inspiring. You feel free to do what you want to do. This is the present moment.

With dreams, he got into what the movie inception points to. DiCaprios character eventually learned that dream or not, he had to learn how to accept and “deal with” the present moment that his consciousness was presenting him. His wife didnt learn this, got lost and confused so she committed suicide. Even when the two were in love and were allowed to create their own world exactly how they wanted it to be, that wasn't enough. They still were faced with the ever present challenge of being present. Which of course is the easiest way. The paradox is mind blowing, really. In order for life to be easy, carefree and devoid of meaningless suffering, you have to be really committed to working tirelessly to search out that simple way of being. Suffering is an addiction. And letting go of an addiction is the hardest thing people do. I believe in all of you to attain this goal. This world is so addicted to suffering, so it will be hard to see the way, but I believe we can all overcome it. Every deep breath that you truly pay attention to (and therefore appreciate) makes a HUGE difference. Never forget that

I had peace of mind, inner peace and self love, as well as love for everyone and everything. I found joy in the mundane and I was no longer negative about anything. I was transformed. A little over a month later I lost it. I don't know how or why but it's gone and I don't know how to get it back. I feel very devastated and don't know what to do.

A beautiful experience indeed. But experiences come and go (by their very nature). The bliss of a certain experience is wonderful but it is NOT the peace he is pointing to. The peace he is pointing to is not dependant on any experience, on any state, on any feeling... If we attach to a certain state, a certain feeling, a certain sensation, and think that our true happiness and peace depends on that, then we are bound to suffer when they finally change (as they are naturally do, as nothing in this world says the same forever, except that which is aware)

  • @Lightmane

@@Daniel-pr4uk then it cant be achieved for it cant last since the experience will always change, so Tolle is just making money selling books, which explains why he keeps writing them, which by the way requires a lot of thought. He made millions telling everyone the key to happiness is to just live in the now, which can never perfectly or consistently be done, for life will always get in the way. Financial freedom, however, removes the burden of this artificial life we've constructed where we're all trying to "earn a living", which is completely antithetical to the very nature of life (living), so Tolle achieved happiness by removing that burden and now he just enjoys life (the now), for he no longer HAS to "earn a living". Now it's much easier to LIVE in / enjoy, "the present moment". If I'm wrong then why does he still write books? He achieved wealth with his first book. Why not just live in the now and stop trying to make more wealth. I thought he let his ego die. Seems to me his ego loves being HIM

This lesson has been a great help to me. J. Krishnamurti said a similar thing : He discouraged being devoutly attentive, disciplined - not wanting to miss anything. He kindly shared that ‘that’ seemingly good devotion, actually hindered one from realizing what they were seeking. JK said rather than [mis]focus on earnest seeking with devoted attentiveness, - Instead be present, aware . . . be the observer of the Now. In that state truth will be found and realized. You will find what you seek. Eckhart’s correct, when seeking . . . one does not realize.

Filling my time so much that I hardly have time to stop and breathe. It scares me to stop and I feel that I am wasting time if I do. What is this life without progress and improvement? I can't just be, then my life won't be meaningful, these are the thoughts I grapple with. Logically I know they aren't true but emotionally they feel very true. This is something I struggle with. I want peace but have to let go of this way of thinking to be there.

I felt emotion, not fear but discontent. When I could no longer stand the situation around me I would go to sleep within my dream and wake up to a new setting. Upon consciousness I was bummed that I couldn't simply go to sleep to change my surroundings.

Mindful does not imply the mind is full. It is more about being fully in ones mind i.e. being present. So it more implies "notice fully", or "be aware". This aside Eckart is a Great man and a beacon of light to humanity.

At first person tries to recall his inner world and trying different types of practices and doings , but he easily forgets inner world when busy in world affairs. Then there comes a time when he will become tired of every practices and doings, .. and his sensitivity start to increase. Then there comes a time when his sensitivity becomes so deep that he does not need to remember his inner world but he will get reminder and messages from everything around him and whatever happening inside of it. Everything drags him inside, and he becomes so deep that he starts to understand the inner language which is soundless and formless . Then there comes a time when he will become stunned, surprised by vast beauty , by unlimited joy vaster than any ocean , stillness deeper than any valley. Then he will see his face in the mirror and will be surprised that he never saw this person before and everything looks utterly new.

Once you grasp what Eckhart says you realize that he's repeating the same thing over and over trying to find new words or expressions to make people understand. Sadly only meditation can help you with getting it though. Just by listening to him you won't be able to follow. Practice awareness of your thoughts and realize that they are not yours at all. You are just watching them.

  • @carlhammill5774

I find it all funny because I studied over 250 NDE cases and most of them talk about the higher the dimension/frequency we go thru the less dense we become and the more thought-based we become. At the end of the day, we are a thought energy form in source mind...a point of focus. Then here comes Ekhard Tolle being the thought-nazi and he attempts to convince you to be anti-thought when essentially all you are is a thought.

Carl Hammill i think i get what u mean but Universe is mental just to create. But it is a lie that you have to think ab things and you are your thoughts cuz as u said even though is positive or negative seems like u depende on that, so you will be living in your mind. So i dont think it is correct to do so.

Who needs meditation sessions, you can meditate all day long every day when your mind is free. I guess those people need it who's minds are not free. Tho, being present only on certain times when you have your sessions will not help i feel because then you split yourself, being the everyday worker with all your troubles and so, and then you have these little moments of freedom, not realizing you can have this freedom all the time.

And I'm so confused. And Eckhart is always the same peaceful and knowing who he is. I'm doubting myself again, and this hurts the most when you think you are crazy and you cannot trust yourself.
