I actually think Viren is a pretty interesting character. While he is obviously powerhungry and very pragmatic, I do think he he wants what is best for humanity and I believe his friendship with the king was very legitimate. Needless to say its what HE thinks is best for humanity. He reminds me a lot of Loghain from Dragon Age in his views. The elves being Orlais in this scenario.

+Floris Kunst I agree. I really loved how he wasn't a one-sided evil bad guy. While he has an odd way of showing it, I believe he genuinely cared/cares about Harrow and humanity. He's just single-minded. He believes that Elves are nothing but ants to be stepped on. That they should not be given the treatment of a person. So in his mind, using dark magic wouldn't be bad as he could just use Elves as fuel once they've taken over Xadia and imprisoned them all. They seem to have powerful magic inside of them afterall. Even when he captured Gren, he only tied him up, presumeably until his plans have been achieved. Viren, while definitely not one of my favorites, is one of the most thought provoking and interesting characters in the show so far in my opinion. What I'd really want to see, was for him to somehow meet an Elf that he actually mangaged to care about. Someone who reminded him a lot of King Harrow. I'd like to see how he would deal with the conflict of wanting to kill all the elves and take over Xadia, and not wanting to destroy his new friend's homeland and everyone living there. I know this is most likely not gonna happen, and to be honest, I really can't see any way for someone like Viren to become friends with an Elf and still have it feel in character anytime soon. But I still really like the idea.

I’ve been running the numbers and scientifically speaking all the “weakness” of the show end up boiling down to coming off as unique and refreshing as the show has progressed... I blame and thank the lack of content for comparable analysis. But will keep you posted from the Entertainment lab.

Yesss! I was so upset though! I mean... I see where he's coming from, but at that moment it just seemed so over-the-top and unfair... Viren came to him to make up, even more than that - to offer his life in exchange for Harrow's. To let his oldest friend know he'll stand by him through anything. He tells him he sees him as a brother, and Harrow literally responds to that with "You think you're special, above everyone else in the kingdom"?? And then just doesn't even let him speak and instead humiliates him, lets him kneel befor him and then sends him away?? Man... I couldn't help but feel heartbroken for Viren. If this is to be the last day of Harrow's life, wouldn't you think he'd want to part on as good terms as possible with his best friend...? **sigh** I kinda hate Harrow a little bit for that... Like yea, dark magic bad, but they could've at least parted on better terms... If that really was the last exchange the two ever had, that's just such a sad and awful end to a friendship like theirs...... Feels shitty, man...

I mean, it was definitely jarring, but I think it was important to see King Harrow's other side. It gets more developed in later seasons, but that moment is a good hint that we've mostly seen him in his role as father, rather than his role as king, and he's far from perfect and innocent in the latter.

I'm literally obsessed with this show so much but I still love Voltron. This might be my favorite now though. *Also amazing job this is hilarious* *Also also too many characters look like Shiro and that one guy with the fire dagger looked exactly like Coran and the illusionist elf girl looked like Allura and long story short Voltron is leaking everywhere and I don't know how to feel about it.*

Rayla's accent is Scottish, but it really isn't that strong. If it was, quite a lot of people would struggle to understand it.

Ngl, I actually watched this show because of the first part of this vid. I was looking for something amusing to watch, and stumbled across it, and then realized all at once that this show was WAY too good for me to spoil myself through a youtube vid. So I ran, watched it, then ran back. Also, the Greatest Showman was perfect, because this show (and vid) is EVERYTHING I ever wanted!
