this reminds me of Pink Sauce lady. A lack of quality control, a hurried launch, poor packaging issues, and poorly performing product with the possibility of contamination. Also: far too expensive for what it's worth. Obvious cash grab is obvious.

This is basically reason 413587 why we should take victims seriously. Take victims seriously and we won’t have people risking eye infections from improperly tested makeup. Anyone who did what he’s done won’t even feel the tiniest prick on his conscience over scamming people

I agree. I never regretted stopping to support a celebrity, after allegations of abuse came out bec. more often than not, they have had a "bigger" scandal being revealed at a later date. I wish, that as a society, we took abuse more seriously: it's the easiest of red flags!

They clearly don't remember a few years ago when HUDA got in trouble for hiding the warning label on those NEON palettes

I will once more shout it from the rooftops: the about-face matte fluid paints outshine James’ paints in every possible way. They’re creamy, blend well, and although they take a while to dry (which I like) once they’re dry they will. Not. Budge. I would much rather buy from someone like Halsey, a person who has done their own makeup for every single event for a decade, than James’ cheap cash grab. For the same price you get a much more stable, reliable, versatile product.

Glisten cosmetics and Rabanne have similar products as well. At this point there's no excuse to support him when there are many other products that do the exact same thing but way better and not created by a groomer

By him saying he doesn't even like his old pallet, it was trash etc but back then LOVED it, ppl spent hard earned money on it reminds me of a certain problematic makeup "influencer" that LOVES products , makes money off it... A few months later hates it?!?.. a supporter of his... Makayla N( I don't know her last name).... They both make me ill... Great video beautiful!!!🩷🤍❤️

The amount of influencers I’ve seen promote a product like crazy and suddenly they hate the products and always have. Obviously people can change their minds after using something for a while however it’s interesting that they change their minds when they’re no longer getting paid

Just FYI, the palette james said sucked wasnt his collab palette. It was a palette he was photographed for the product photos and he promoted, it was before he had his collab palette.

My friend got them for me for my birthday as a surprise and the tube itself INCLUDING the makeup are 0.42oz and there is barely anything in there. For $175 AUD I would expect more.

I know that they say idea is that the pigment is meant to be so intense you only need a little but OMG you can't put any unused back into the bottle. Would have been better in little pots@@carolannemariam

Oh and the pot came in all smashed because the packaging was so lazy - just a thin box and the pot thrown in with a handful of packing peanuts

From a business perspective I can't imagine not wanting your first batch of products to be well-made? Like don't you want your brand to last longer than just the first sales?

Shit like this is why I will not buy “influencer brands” James, Kylie, Jacqueline (sp?) they’re all just crap. Especially for the price!!! DOLLAR TREE has knock off James Charles pallets and they are *surprisingly* good eyeshadows… for $1.25.

The only “celeb” stuff I have bought is Haus lab lip oil and Rare beauty crème blush (the pod not tube) - both amazing. A few Make up Geek shadows - great. And Wayne Goss brushes - worth the price. I want to see authentic passion for the craft not a hyper flurry of launches.

I mentioned this in a reply to another comment that his approach to artistry is so lazy, compared to the journey it took Danessa Myricks. She is an MUA who started her brand over a decade ago with Color Fix, which are multi-use tubes of cream color pigments. They're for lips, eyes, cheeks, contour, etc and come in nudes and artistry shades in all sorts of finishes. It took her a very long time to formulate and create proper packaging for. She used a lot of client/makeup artist feedback and she redeveloped it multiple times. She did it to make makeup inclusive for Black people and people of all skin tones, as well as accessibile for all skill levels. James could NEVER have the same level of care. On top of that, he has privilege in multiple ways to be able to screw up and not completely lose his ability to come back to monetize his social media privilege.

Am I the only one that has to wonder if he's just trying to push this through as fast as possible, that way he can make as much money as possible before the next controversy hits and he gets cancelled again? It feels very "let's get on this before the next drama comes to light!"

Don't remember the name, BUT there is a brand that sells colored foundation for cosplay and other applications that are like $12. JCs paints look half thesize.

Two main thoughts, not a huge fan of Jeffree or anything but his lab is known for their standards so it’s not like James had no other options on this globe, he probably just went with the one who made him the most. Secondly, no one should be buying from an admitted predatory. He needs to just take the money he’s already swindled out of his teen audience and go into seclusion like the monster he is.

would love to see you cover paige christi's involvement in this. jennifer gerard(of gerard cosmetics) is using a photo of her DEAD AUNTIE as promotional material and is refusing to take it down even after request by the estate owner(paiges mom) its sick and twisted honestly, and i hate that its not gaining traction

I think there’s a big difference between “in hindsight, that was actually shit” and “I knew it was shit at the time and knowingly lied about it” and uh…… we know which james charles did… yikes jc yikes

I worked in R&D at a product development company that made lots of makeup and skin care for many big companies. We did stability testing of products daily for 4 weeks, then weekly up to 3 months, and 6 months for specific clients. 3 samples stored in cold, room temp, and frozen ( or maybe heat) per product. I had to record all the results. It’s a lot

Yep, it’s the same for pharmaceuticals, and even more stringent - most are at least two years. It’s a LOT of testing. The fact that James just said, “eh, it’s fine” just goes to show that the FDA doesn’t crack down on cosmetics nearly as much as they should.

Tons of SFX brands out there. Kryolan, Cinema Secrets and BYS SFX are some I've encountered in my dirt poor country.

I hope he continues to try and continues to fail. He is an admitted predator that has never faced consequences. We can make our money talk by not buying from a predator.

Don’t think you have to say allegedly with him talking to underage boys. He made a video where he literally admitted it. He has since deleted the video but there are videos of it everywhere. Also, I’d be cautious referencing anything Bennett says. He’s known to be a liar, harasser and bully towards the problematic creators like Jaclyn, Jeffree, Tati, and James, and can’t stand any criticism. I believe he was kicked out of the beauty community for his own controversies and tries to act like some “all knowing tell all” person for the beauty community now. I’m not surprised at all James’s brand ended up the way it did. People were saying it would since he announced he was going to launch one around the time he was canceled.

Now, I AM a bright/clear winter girlie who really only wears cooler colors cause they look better on me, BUT, this palette looks like this weird orangey red mess to me and not a TRUE warm neutral palette, it just hurts to look at

It’s crazy you still have to say alleged when James Charles self admits to sending inappropriate messages to minor boys (in a now deleted video, but still reloads of the video exist) where he justifies his actions by saying he was “desperate”. In my opinion, that’s admittance to the crime from his own mouth, so it’s pretty much confirmed from the source.

I prefer calling it the Predator Paints & Predator palette 👍🏼

Don’t worry Isabella, I also purchased his Morphy palette as well, but when it was on sale. Also, I did watch one review about the paints, and they completely cracked on the person, as in he tried the yellow, and it went to crap. Even people know that Don, Manny, MUA, that it completely separated on his eyes and he, blamed it on his skin pigmentation, sorry, dictating this don’t know how it’s gonna auto correct that out.

my James Charle's X Morphe brushes are starting to fall apart. I can't wait until they become unusable so I have a legitimate reason to buy new ones. I bought them before their downfalls and I liked how it was a more complete set with everything I needed. I haven't come across a deal like that ever.

Just for clarification because I deep dive into all of this, the Morphe palette he was referring to that was hideous wasn’t his James Charles Artistry Palette collab but rather one he 39 Dare to Create palette in which he was a model for on their website. Just laying the facts out.

Half Magic has incredible and affordable eye and face paints in SO many colors and glitters! They perform so well and the company is amazing. No need to buy from James 🥴
