I was allotted IIT Mandi- Material Science Engineering after scoring 13,835 AIR GEN in JEE advanced 2020. That was the best I could get. I was like okay Imma ditch this uninteresting field of majors and will join some state level government college, and I did that. Yesterday one of my coaching friend called me, we were talking after a really long time, I asked him where he was and he told me he is studying chemical engineering in IIT Bombay, I was mind blown as his rank was 20k. I later realized that he became an IITian just because of reservation, we went to same school, same coaching, his father earned definitely more than what my father earned, I had better rank still he was given admission. I hate this system ofcourse, but no one even acknowledges that it exist! Loved you video, you gained a subscriber! ps I also turned my adblocker off on your channel! cheers

Absolutely insensitive video and post! If not more it's certainly unconstitutional in nature, if you believe in constitution of India. Reservation is not ment to make you rich, if you are making a video about it, on this platform atleast do a proper research on what is the history of caste and reservation before outrightly rejecting it. A person's 'merit' is not defined by how much marks he/she scored in entrance exam. If you do believe in such a flawed understanding of merit then you certainly need some social sciences lessons

well, If they don't want to understand and change this utter non-sense situation, maybe I think we should let them learn the truth the hard way. Let more brain drain happen, let them devalue the IIT's and IIM's by putting more students who don't deserve to be there. Maybe situations like that put their mind in a right place when they have to hire employees from abroad, when companies prefer foreign degrees than IIT's and IIM's.

If we look deep into the matter, there are many capable students. However, there are way too less jobs and forget about the number of high paid jobs. On one side, SC-ST reservation is some sort of thing to divert people's minds from the current job and education situation in India. On one side they show that they are helping the backward sections, even though not backward and due to such things, most general people and even SC-ST people leave the country and get high standards in other countries. Then the government say that the country cannot develop as the good people are going away from India, whereas the actual condition is that if the same people remained in India, they could not have done that well and they would not have come in the so called "Good People" category of the government.

India is fundamentally an amalgamation of castes. Caste is the first and foremost thing here. The majority who enjoys powerful position like bureaucrats, judges, professors etc are mainly from few castes who are actually the minority. This condition should be viewed from the historical angle, in my opinion. The dominant caste get the social capital by birth and need not overcome any prejudices. You were saying about poor upper castes of Haryana. They would only need to make money to level their social standing. But what about the lower caste people, they need to first overcome the village sanctions on their activities, get out of the vicious cycle of discrimination, deal with the trans generational trauma, childhood trauma only because of their birth into a social sect. That is why the constitution goes for a head start for such students. It's more connected to justice than merit. From your global point of view this maybe contrary to the system of merit. But for the reservations to gradually obliterate, the first requirement is the gradual dissolution of the systemic caste prejudice in India which is historically much deeper than the racism in the west. So I request you to use your influence towards sensitising fellow indians about the plight of lower caste people and co-operate with reformative movements to change India for the better. If the caste prejudice dies out at root level, reservations too die naturally.

Casteism has absolutely no place in today's world and no person has the right to make a fellow human being feel inferior just because of his/her surname. The very concept is ridiculous. However, you talk of social justice. Please remember, there is a great divide in modern India and money is the new caste system. There is absolutely no justice in denying a chance to a poor but meritorious student to get admission to a good university or get a good job. You too, sir, should see beyond casteism sometimes and see the misery of the ordinary students.

This is really reducing the quality of human resource in India. reservation needs to be only on financial bases and once someone avail it he shouldn't be allowed to avail it again. Unfortunately no govt will ever dare to eradicate reservation because they love their chair more than India real talent will be harnessed by other countries.

What people don't discuss is that how many SC/ST/OBC students get generael seats because of good marks, as some people don't know if a SC/ST/OBC student scores good marks and is above the general cutoff then he is not counted in the quota but is counted in the general seat. So I want to know how much of the general seats are these candidates taking too. There will come a point when only 15% of the general seats would be taken by higher caste people because there population is only 15% in India. India is basically giving reservation to a majority caste.

Today I get mail from IIT madras and they are launching new batch for BSc in programming and Data science which is totally online. I got so excited and fill application form and after that I read full details of course. There will be qualifier test which you have to give in-person. For general category, min 50% is required and for SC ST 40% required. I read further which says that, in online assignment also there is cast wise marks require. After reading that, I just closed the window and again starts focusing to study from Germany. Matalb yeah log abb online course ki fees se lekar criteria for admission and passing me bhi reservation daal rahe hai. In campus me to General Valo ki lagi hi padi hai par online course me bhi same chije kar rahe hai. Level of education is decreasing day by day in India because of this type of Systems.

This entire video is extremely caste blind. Caste is omnipresent in every social/cultural/economic institution of this country and so is discrimination. It's in this countrys blood for thousands of years and the reservation system which you speak so ill about is a an attempt to undo the extreme injustice and dehumanization of repressed classes of this country. The 'merit' based admission which you speak so highly about is also very heavily depends on caste privilege. Instead of shitting on the reservation, ask government to build more IIT's and educational instutions becuase the reality is even if you remove caste based reservation millions of hard working indians would still be unable to get into good institutions. We need huge number of more institution to cater to demand, shifting the conversation to reservation is casteist. Please educate yourself.

Kitni IITs banwayega re? IIT ka brand dilute karne ko bol Raha hai tu.. And No, No one looks at your "caste" You are talking about people in villages where caste discrimination still exists those people are infact very poor and who takes the seats in IITs and IIMs rich sc sts who have never been discriminated against this blind caste system is rigged against poor sc sts who score even lower than rich sc sts Your arguments would be "If injustice was caste based so the social justice should also be caste based" And I agree but how much privilege do you guys want....and when will it end? Did BR ambedkar envisioned 50% seats to be reserved?? Did he envisioned mandal commission? If reservation can't end so called injustices then why is it there? Let's talk about parsis They fled muslim persecution Dealt with Indian kings diplomatically Dealt with Mughals and xenophobia diplomatically yet we don't see scs or sts doing it? Why were your ancestors such sore losers And you guys still have privilege it's known as the majority privilege India is a democratic nation which means rule of the majority and we know scs and sts are the majority in india Yet you guys cry You guys have the biggest privilege possible in a democratic country Let's talk about Sikhs There was a time when sikhs were killed where ever they were found French historian at the time of Mughal Raj writes 1000 Sikhs were killed each day at the royal place There were price on Sikh heads.... Yet they persisted even when they constituted like 1% of India's population against the largest kingdom in india ( Mughal dynasty ) Let's talk about vaishyas they aren't dvijas which means they are inferior as per Varna system if shudras were given x injustices vaishyas were given atleast x/2 now look where they are even though they aren't dwijas they top JEE and NEET they are ceos of mnc's they don't need to cry that Brahmins were mean to them etc

Not gonna complain about reservation but this fetish of companies for Tier1 colleges is a complete nonsense. If Microsoft had such criteria, Satya Nadella wouldn't be the CEO today. In my experience I have seen good performers from bad colleges and bad performers from good colleges. Ultimately the companies lose out on good talent by putting such narrow criteria.
