@letheal that's what I do. Last time the MTB guys asked me what the hell I was doing here with that outfit and that bike 😂 they were wearing full gear and told me to be careful and safe. Honestly the trail was ok and not difficult/dangerous, and I ride pretty safely.

I've always agreed with the single helmet rule, there's only a single time when my road helmet didn't protect me enough and a branch got me in the eyes.. a mtb brim might have helped there. Nice to see all the bikes and smiling faces... well done, as usual DK.

Two helmets for me, a standard MTB style for all rides (road, gravel, mtb) with visor removed, save for really aggressive enduro/downhill, where I switch to a full face helmet.

I don't know how I missed this film 2 weeks ago, but I'm so glad I found it. My life is now complete, all those times I was out on the road and I came across a little bit of gravel, I have lost count of the times I turned around and rode home to get my gravel helmet so I could continue my journey. The technology we have these days is so clever!

I've had one for a year and it's probably the only helmet in 30 years that I would buy the same again. I did find that the peak on a cap just inhibits my vision too much while mountain biking. I keep being way more rubbish than usual and suddenly realized it was because I couldn't see far enough ahead. I have the white and Grey one but that camo is very nice as long as you don't wear any other camo with it.

Thanks, fun video, great stuff! Re, Helmets and Safety: The worst carry over from pro cycling to the public is all black cycling kit. As an old fart touring and commuting cyclist that has crossed the U.S. three times, riding in and out of shadows makes you almost invisible. Roads without shoulders, and 50% of drivers on cell phones, I suggest a daylight visible rear blinker, with orange, yellow, or neon green kit for clothes. Idea for video, test of the longest lasting rear blinky light, farthest visible unit, most reliable, with best mounting device. Happy trails!

I have a Giro Switchblade that wraps further down the back of my head and over the ears that I like to wear - even without the chin bar - while riding rowdier trails (or in the winter... The ear coverage is nice.) For the rest of my riding I wear a smaller half shell from Giro. I find I like having two, as the switchblade is way to heavy for road rides, but I feel much safer riding with it on trails.

One helmet can protect your head in a variety of impacts but does that mean it's adequate in all situations? I have two helmets. They have different features. One for my commute to work in a city. It is made to hold flashing lights on my head so I am more visible to auto drivers. The flashing lights on my bike sit lower and aren't as obvious. I don't want to be intimate with 4000 lbs. of steel. I have my road helmet for the open road rides, not the congested in the city traffic rides. I use it for my workouts. It is lighter, has better ventilation and does not hold lights. I haven't tested either for impact protection and hope I never do.
