Very clear teachin ! That help me a lot. Thank you very much !
I used to have a BB gun one speed virbrato in my younger year. Used metronome…but I started really enjoying and understanding the string and vibrato occurring naturally as a result when I started using gut on my top, Olive G n D . Thank you so much for your videos! And all the beautiful basses. Oh my ….
excelente vídeo, muchas gracias, sigue subiendo vídeos como este que están geniales para los que empezamos en el contrabajo.
Loving all these videos

Thanks!
Thank You so much, Professor Thomas! You really helped me understand the nature of vibrato technique in positions above the seventh. I have a question: what do you think about Rinat's idea of turning the wrist counterclockwise when vibrating with the first finger in lower positions, and turning the wrist clockwise when vibrating with the fourth finger, while simultaneously lifting the first finger as you do in the video? Thank you very much for the invaluable information!
Master!!!!
Wow, Just wow. Please take this in the way it is meant - but I get a great deal out of the vocalisations you make.Makes the whole experience very visceral - it makes me realise I do not have that connection with the instrument, and that vocalising would really help me connect.Thank you. Subscribed.

Welcome!
Yes, tue that lower register = slower vibrato and higher register = faster vibrato, but I was taught that that applies regardless of using a rotating vibrato or parallel to string vibrato, so it isn't as if the rotating vibrato is not at all applicable, or couldn't be used slowly. The rotating vibrato certainly can be applied at almost any speed, slow or fast. It isn't mutually exclusive. Both vibratos, albeit comfortable to the individual player, can absolutely be utilized at any speed, certainly in the lowest range of the double bass. Whatever feels natural and comfortable is the answer, but not because the rotating vibrato cannot be implemented in varying speeds.

Thank you for watching and for your detailed comment :D
When playing, which notes do you play vibrato on? Do you just have an idea when it is needed?
hey, u have a double bass shop? if u do do u ship?

We do for sure have a shop and can ship to anywhere in the word!
But vibrato is not abstract, but dependent on tempo and rhythm. So rhythmized in triplets or in semiquavers.
