It's nice to get the extra information after the events of Underworld and see how this one and Beneath the Ashes tie into each other. The doppelganger was definitely a cool thing to explore with the shadow meter and more melee based mechanics. Well done on the devs for coming up with basically a brand new character with all the bells and whistles just for a DLC. The combat and puzzle mechanics are very nicely designed and implemented. The acrobatics Lara is capable of in this game is insane but the doppelganger is just on another level. I feel the conversation Lara has with the doppelganger is another very important scene for Lara's character. The doppelganger shows that her ultimate weakness is her obsession and that Natla has exploited that to great use multiple times. I made a comment in the Croft Manor video about the doppelganger being even more terrifying/creepy in the DLC. That shot at 1:51:58 is what I was referring to (you even used it as the thumbnail). I also like how it came full circle with Natla creating the doppelganger in Lara's image to torment her and then it ends up backfiring on her as she can't stand the sight of the doppelganger anymore. The last thing she (and us as the player) sees is a demonic wide-eyed Lara smiling down on her which must have been the worst way to go for her. Her own sadistic joke on Lara ends up becoming her own sadistic demise. Then you realise the really terrifying thing... the doppelganger is free to do whatever it wants now. As Lara said, she'd need an army to take that thing down and it doesn't have to obey anyone. Considering this is the very last piece of content in the Legend timeline, its quite a chilling way to end it. I am getting very excited about the remasters... only a couple of days to go! I'll be having a go at them myself first but hopefully keeping up with your videos as well. Looking forward to your playthroughs of them!

I’m so amazed that they went to all this effort for a DLC! It’s a shame so few people got to play it due to the Xbox exclusivity! It was awesome to explore the story of the doppelgänger, it rounds off the story nicely! 🥰 I too loved the conversation between the two. Maybe the only time ever that Lara realises that her obsession is a flaw. It’s so chilling! 😅 Yes I totally see now that the doppelgänger gets more creepy in this! That image of her smiling down stuck with me so I had to use it for the thumbnail 🫣 I love how you put it! That Natla created the doppelgänger to torture Lara but ended up torturing herself! You see the panic in her face right at the end as she Realises that “Lara” is just going to stand there and watch her drown 🫢 Yes I wish we knew what the doppelgänger will do next! Will she just want to live her life in peace? Will she want to create chaos and destruction? We don’t know 😨 I’m so excited for the remasters! They’re almost here 😍 I hope you enjoy playing them and I look forward to chatting with you whenever you have time to watch the videos 🥰❤️❤️❤️

Yesssss!!!!! She may be evil but we are rooting for her 😂❤️ I wonder though if she is inherently evil? Like, without people now giving her orders to do evil things, what will she do? Is she good, or neutral? What will she spend her time doing? Shopping? Enter the olympics? I need to know what happens to her 😂😂😂 Haha you and the doppelgänger are living all of our dreams of being a power fantasy dressed in skin tight black 😎 I’m so glad this video made you laugh so much 😂 Honestly recording was an absolute disaster for this one 🙈 Everything went wrong. The cursor flying across the screen, the recoding stopping all the time, the invisible keyboard and emojis, the constant dying, it was too much 😂😂😂 But I still really enjoyed it and I noticed “cease and desist” in the edit and went “awww Living Quarters” 🥰 I’m glad to leave the emulator behind now and get back onto Steam 😂 I had actually lost my grasp on reality while recoding this, I was so filled with rage at points 😅❤️

As much as we all needed Natla to finally perish, I always feel bad about giving her a torturous death. But Lara did want her to suffer so I guess that's how it's gotta be. Well done for getting through this. They really wanted to test people's capabilities with the buttons for this DLC.

This was certainly a challenge to get through but it was super fun learning some new moves 🥰❤️

Oh, this might be the most salty we've seen you so far. There were some bombs flying across the screen. 😂 I love it! 😂 But it looked really difficult towards the end. And I can't tell you enough how much of a great idea this DLC is. 😃 First letting us find an artefact to control the doppelganger and then letting us control the doppelganger. It's great! 😍 Her movements especially. You seemed to have a lot of fun zipping around. 😁 And I agree with the thralls, why whould they attack her? They should've come up with a different kind of enemy entirely. 🤔 But now excuse me, I have some remastered tombs to raid. 🤣 😍😍😍

I got so angry and frustrated at the end of this! Angy Suzanne was unleashed 😅🙈 These DLCs were just amazing! I loved the story 😍 and the doppelgängers moves were awesome! I've never seen this dlc, it's really great! I've low key always been intrigued by the doppelgänger, their stunning and I appreciate them having Lara's old school braid. The outfit is also on point. It's a bit controversial that Lara sets free such an evil being but the doppelgänger is a badass character and I couldn't stop smiling myself at them ending Natla lol Thank you so much for providing amazing content as always!

Will she just go on a rampage through the earth as an unstoppable force of evil? Or is she actually neutral or good even, and only did evil acts because of following orders? Hi neptune, how are you? Yggdrasil is the 'tree of life' from Norse mythology. The reason I mentioned it was because at the beginning of this video Suzanne is reading the prologue, reads the word and laughs briefly. I immediately thought of when Suzanne was reading the name in an earlier video when her fiancé was by her side. No matter how she tried to say it Frederick would correct her, although neither she nor I could detect any difference. It was so funny 😂.

This definitely is there to test your skills and as much as I wanna blame the game; when you get something right on the 20th try, you realise it’s down to your skills 😂 I hope one day these are released on all platforms (maybe as part of a remaster) so that everyone can enjoy these levels because imo it seems like they fill the missing gap Underworld has. Hopefully one day I’ll play these myself! (I’ve seen bits and pieces).

Haha for sure the doppelgänger really tests your skills, especially those traps at the end 😅 I think they should release these on steam. Why not when the main game is on there? And these DLCs are a great addition to the main story 🥰 Yes I think this is the biggest single level video! Southern Mexico in Underworld was over 2 hours but that’s technically a big section made up of four levels, so Laras shadow was a monster of a level indeed 😂😂😂

also never played it. The doppelganger powers are lit, imagine Lara having those - time trials would not be scary anymore lol i think they put all those enemies to show how doppelganger fight also. all those traps, it's literally temple of xian at 1:46:00 only woman could say "let me fix my get to get ready for this" 😆 very nice dlc

Waouh, the doppelganger is wonderful, more stronger and faster that our dear Lara.

It's a cool concept for a DLC but I think it was rather stupid of Lara to set her doppelganger completely free. Imagine knowing that your evil spawn is out there possibly impersonating you, breaking into your bank account or whatever. I would never fall asleep again 😂

Hi, I think the lagging is the laptop loading in the rest of the level. And to do it fast enough it has to stop the game. Making it look like its lagging. So you do see the game and not just a blank space with the graphics loading in very fast. As your using a emulator.

At the end of Beneath The Ashes you see Lara freeing the Doppelganger from all commands

It was Xbox 360 exclusive at the time of release and I guess they just never put them on steam. It seems silly though as surely the exclusivity is expired now and so many would love to play them 😞💔
