I don't think this will ever stop being one of the most amazing, imaginative scenes I have ever seen. It is what really made me fall in love with Pixar.

@@leasebergfladstad167 alot of them are and alot of tjem arent. They made a combination system to make variants but the variants made didn't add up to amount of doors used in the movie. Sometjinf like 400000 combinations to use for 36 million doors

I am still baffled by how gravity works and the physics of when they open the door; I am simply amazed.

As someone who loved looking through the special features on DVDs this is a great way to show off what people are missing because of Netflix

Yeah, they should really make a movie based on the Monsters Inc. Laugh Factory comic book. Its story takes place after this movie and Randall actually returns!

It's funny when Mike and Sully horizontally fall through a door laying on the ground! 2:45

You know this scene really makes me want to study how portal physics work.

Modeling the all those doors was probably the most stressing part of this project, but it was worth it.

It's amazing how a few sketches can turn into an amazing animated scene.

Beats me. Probably it would be difficult to make this safe enough to be a ride. I mean, there's no safety catch on the door's frame. Also, I think someone just has to say, "Hey, let's make a ride based off the door chase scene from 'Monsters, Inc.'" If you want it that bad, why not broach the idea yourself? And I'm with you-'cause I agree with your thinking.

Since there were about 72,700,000 children in the USA (from the ages 0-17) (there were 285 million people total, children and adults) and the worldwide population in 2001 was 6.201 billion people, using the same basic ratio, we have an answer of 1581798947 doors (1.58 billion) in the factory. Keep in mind this movie came out in 2001, so there would be even more doors now.

I disagree. I love Monsters, Inc., but Monsters University has so much originality and heart than Monsters, Inc.. It's a friendship growing up on Mike and Sulley, in a very Toy Story style. It's just my opinion.

In my opinion, Monsters University is decent but it has light-hearted moments of how they met Sully and Mike. Not to mention that they met at 4th grade which it wasn't canon.

The doors to some bedroom in Paris, when they pull to open in the Monster World, then they're walk-in closets in the human world. Walk-in closets usually have push-open doors so that there is space for the door to swing within the closet's perimeter.
