Hi I just want to say thank you so much for this video. I have been to China before, for something else but obviously, I made friends and opportunities came by. I have a headache with the authentication process, I had no idea where to begin but your video addressed everything so well thank you so much. Do you know if I can ask a friend who is in PTA to do this for me or they need me in person because I'm far and I can't travel at the moment? The companies that offer these services are charging so much. R1000 per document, my goodness?

Hi Manezi, I’m happy that you found this video helpful. Yes your friend can submit on your behalf. On the DIRCO forms for the appointment there’s an option for one to tick the “to be submitted/collected” by a friend.

Evening, my original degree certificate is laminated. do they require a laminated certificate at dirco or chinese embasy? there are rumours that they do not need a laminated certificate. please assist.

Hi Unathi, from what I know, they don’t want laminated certificates. However, SAQA only gets a scanned document and that is what will go to DIRCO. So it shouldn’t be a big issue when authenticating the documents back home but I’m not sure if it’ll be the same when you go to China since you’d need to take your original certificate with as well.

How long does Dirco take to authorize ur documents? Am worried 😟

It never used to take long until COVID happened, you could walk in and they’d do it for you. But now their backlog doesn’t seem to have been resolved. It could take a month or more.

Yes you’d still need to because DIRCO confirms to those abroad that the signatures are indeed authentic
