"Theological Puberty" that is so true. They do more damage to the truth than glory to God. The doctrine of election excited me about the Bible because I could not imagine why the God of the universe set his love on me. I was humbled and embraced by the love of God. Such a beautiful teaching, so maligned by those who believe it but don't understand it and those upon who it pierces their pride of being the captain of their own soul.

A doctrine firmly founded on the absolute infallibility of Holy Scripture!

God chose to lavish his love on us despite the sins he foresaw in us at the foundation of the world ❤️🙌🏻 so humbling .

Yes and even with that option we never choose to do anything to the glory of God before receiving a regenerate heart. That’s where His sovereignty comes in and gives us a new heart that desires to bring Him glory.

Our free will is corrupt before salvation. We are dead and do not seek for God. Thank God he chooses to save some

The Lord is sovereign but not the way Matt defines "sovereign". Calvinism is false.

Hi Contemplate, To say "Calvinism is false" is not a helpful perspective. If someone was to say 'Arminianism is false' all they have done is criticized an orthodox view of the Christian faith. Both Calvinism and Arminianism are orthodox views of the Word of God. That does not mean both are correct or true- but many of the greatest thinkers in human history have debated this. if you are saying "fatalism (no free will exists) is false" then the statement is more helpful. But that is not Calvinism. If you were to say "open theism (God doesn't know the future) is false" then the statement is more helpful. But Open Theism is not Arminianism. Just my two cents.

@@gettingtherein90days Hi, What is "helpful" is always what is true. I say Calvinism is false because it is despite that it's considered "orthodox". I'm always willing to put my money where my mouth is and have a full-blown, detailed conversation on why it's false so I may blurt out a controversial "Calvinism is false" to see who bites. I don't like "pastor" Matt's teaching but he's a smart guy. A smart guy like "pastor" Matt should know what the definition of "sovereign" is.
