The disappearance of Lea Porter

When Lea Porter disappeared in 2014, police questioned the last person who saw her, Christopher Waide. They weren't able to find any evidence that he was involved, so Lea's brother Maxx took matters into his own hands.

I feel like a really good lawyer could have gotten that confession tossed out by claiming it was coerced, but I'm glad it wasn't. What was he thinking by confessing to the victim's own brother? And he wasn't even the only person there, so he was risking his life to tell a bullshit story that he was obviously making up as he went along. I'm glad they kept their cool and didn't beat him to death on the spot.

This is a case I had not heard of until now thank you for retelling it here for us.How about Leah’s brother Max, getting the idiot to confess on a recording ! Few have been able to do this though many have tried. But another twist is Cris grabbing the phone and want to be first to confess to 911, I don’t understand that. The worst part is the offer given to him for giving them the same story again. What a dumb prosecutor, I certainly hope he words his offer better next time. If you can point out where the body is & we make recovery we will make the deal complete.

Never have I ever heard of a brother fighting so hard to find and get justice for his sister, parents always, law enforcement meh, they do it for themselves not victims. But a brother?! This speaks volumes to the relationship they had and I don’t know it kinda makes it more heartbreaking

Imagine having a criminal who’s into children, admits on tape to unaliving someone and then you offer them a deal.. Our justice system is such a joke. It’s no wonder so many people are willing to commit crimes like this. On average more than 50% of these kind of crimes go unsolved. In places like Chicago it’s about 70% of people that get away with it..
