A couple years ago I saw a panel with John Connolly (great guy) he was telling us he went lighter on the violence in his more recent books - and a lot of fans wanting more of the blood. Good to here he is back to his more bloody, non-supernatural roots.

The short story in nocturns 2 is The Fractured Atlas and should be read before The woman in the woods.

Recently sampled a couple of new authors, new to me anyway. First one I read was Jess Lourey’s “Bloodline” which was really good and had a twist that I wasn’t expecting and the other which I’m still reading is “Whiteout” by Danielle Girard which I’m also enjoying😎👍🏻

I believe I'm reading a book by this author right now, The Black Echo. But this one doesn't sound familiar so I may be wrong.

Because I’m too lazy to actually look it up: What’s the first book on the series? I may pick it up eventually. You also say some are supernatural and some aren’t, how does that work? Like is it a “supernatural “ universe and then normal human monster things?

Haha. I see you put the dirt book up. That’s what I get for commenting before the video is over. 😂

LOL! You're fine. The supernatural stuff is understated. There's always a thriller plot over the supernatural stuff, but some books rely heavier on the supernatural than others.

I’m also a massive Stephen King fan. I read nearly all his books, except the Dark Tower series doesn’t really appeal to me. Why don’t you review our British horror writer James Herbert. He was a fantastic writer. Couple of years ago, I read all his books like marathon after he died.

Hi Ed, Once was James Herbert’s weakest novel, read The Rats trilogy, The Fog, Nobody’s True and the others. The all great.
