And the sad part is, It had so much potential!!

I've never been angry watching a movie before. Everything about this try hard film was fucking trash. The dialogue is incoherent, the flashbacks are disorienting, the camera work is shoddy, and there were countless pointless scenes in it. If its goal was to make me feel like I had a mental illness, it succeeded. Don't watch it if you're looking for a legit film.

Please dont waste your time! Took a day to watch movies and lost all that time. When it gets to the climax of the movie they end it . Worst movie I've ever seen.

You should read the book-it is very good and you will get an ending.

It's an ending like Inception. The filmmakers want the audience to assess their own ending. Will Stan turn them in, in 3 days? Will Kate be able to sway him for another 3 days or talk him out of turning them in altogether? You decide.

@@androssteague or will bo turn them in. It was the wrong kind of ending. Inception is one thing, it for the theme of the movie but this....nah. I wanted a conclusion. I wanted those fucking kids to pay for murder.

Unless there's going to be a sequel most people don't like those kinds of endings ..... or non endings . If someone is telling a story they should tell it and finish it .

Worst review with worst movie ever. This cast has amazing talent and even they couldn’t bring it to the table with this cut of the film. It was incredibly annoying and you could t get invested in anyone because they were constantly getting up and moving around. If I could give it a negative star I would lol

In the book Beau disappears-but it is obvious that Michel ‘gets rid’ of him egged on by his mother (Laura Linney) who sets up an alibi for him by pretending to call him from the restaurant. And yes, in the book, they get away with it.

In the different threads on various channels every now and then people will say there's no ending . I haven't watched it yet I don't know if I will I hear it's a rather depressing movie ... I don't want to watch a depressing movie right now

What a disappointment. They cut the movie before it ended. What happend, did they run out of budget or did they just want to fuck with the audience??

The author HATED the movie - maybe more than I did.

This movie really draws you in; I found it fascinating. I felt glad to be watching an adult movie for once versus some superficial comic book effort. But the ending is really unsatisfying. I had to go back to the last couple of minutes and read the subtitles carefully to discover what actually happened. It doesn't quite explain how everything worked out; and what it does explain ends really abruptly leaving you feeling confused. They should have put another ten minutes on the end and resolved the whole thing. I can't see how a clean ending would have changed any of the messages of the film.

Agreed I was so mad like wtf is Beau really ok? Did he tell his parents what his uncle did? Did do the press conference? Did he run for governor? Too many unanswered questions

This movie will give you Aspergers.

Please see the original "Het Diner" (Dutch) film as it dispenses with the peripherals and gets to the meat of the matter. Also, I recommend reading, "The Rituals of Dinner" (Margaret Visser) for a truly intriguing added perspective. Did anyone else find bits somewhat reminiscent of "Macbeth's" witches & wives predicament in this story? : )

I fell asleep and woke up right at the ending and whole point of the dinner. I’m the real winner. The movie sucked.

at the last few seconds of the film you can hear in the background rebacca Hall's character saying oh it's good to hear from youI love you. So he's still alive.

You should read the book-Beau is never found, he is ‘got rid’ by Laura Linney’s son and she sets up an alibi for him by pretending to call him from the restaurant. She then goes on to smash a glass into her brother-in-law’s face, badly disfiguring him and his political future is ruined. So the only one who wants to ‘do the right thing’ in fact loses everything and the others get away with it and live happily ever after!

Great acting 👏but as u said it's a movie not for everyone.

What in the literal fuck did I just watch?? WTF! I feel insane right now at the ending! 😡👎 I don’t feel good, I feel angry and pissed. If that’s what the director had in mind to do to the audience then he surely succeeded. I literally feel insane right now. I’m gonna have to go watch something like Jim Carey in Dick and Jane just to try and balance me the fuck out now. 🙄🍺👁️😱😳🤔 Don’t watch this movie. Unless you actually really want to feel INSANE. 😡

It wasn't a fun, happy movie, but it was a pretty interesting thriller. I'd recommend it. It's a good look into parenting horrible kids and family crisis dynamics.

This was horrendous on every single level that a movie could be. Coogan was so inexplicably over the top, his role so awful, the writing so bad, the set completely ridiculous. So much random, embarrassing, juvenile dialogue. The "boys" arson scene so poorly written, so unrealistic & poorly acted that it was painful. Pure indulgence from all involved.

I loved this movie. 👍🏾 including the ending. I will think of it often. Race in America.

wow! this movie is crazy. Really hit the hard issues of today. It may be very hard to watch but it is a must!!! You ought to watch something that its so real for white people that it gets very uncomfortable. Politics, parenting, and how kids treat social media and committing violence for the sake of popularity. SUCH A GREAT MOVIE!! be open to watch movies that are not all happy moments, because real life doesn't all end in happy endings. one love from california
