The Dilemma of Pierre Gasly at Alpine...

Спорт

After two years I'm going to go out on a whim and say that Pierre Gasly's Alpine stint is not what he expected, especially from an F1 works team. He now faces a dilemma of what to do next, should he leave Alpine or should he stay.

He needs to go and I think Williams could be the best option for him. If he can be mature enough to see it as a move that would help to (hopefully) rebuild Williams and his own career, then I think it could work out well. Going by their recent performances, Gasly and Ocon wouldn't be missed from the F1 grid.

i just stumbled upon your and have to say your content really fits to what i want to have from an F1 related channel, so big ups, pleasse keep the work up! and to gasly, i think that its 100% a good idea to leave alpine for sauber. I think both him and nico have a good relationship and the package would be better, since audio seems to really have the idea of staying long term in F1

I'm not sure Williams is the answer. I think it's smarter to stay and hope the situation improves

I think he definitely misses the more positive work environment. With AlphaTauri he always seemed happy, enthusiastic, more cheerful. And that was mainly because of who his teammates were. From what I've seen, he got along with Daniil, and when Yuki came in to the picture, probably the most wholesome bromance was born. Also, the Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri/VICARB team seems overall very supportive; like you can tell the relationship between team and drivers is very nice. So a similar option is there with Williams and having Alex as his teammate, someone who he also seems to get along with. But I can also see him staying at Alpine if Esteban decides to leave. I honestly wonder who's truly at fault there (the bad relationship between them). Esteban doesn't seem like the kind of guy to soften up, nor have I seen any signs of humbleness from him (with his whole "I have contacts at Mercedes"), so maybe the relationship hasn't and probably never will get better if Mr. Ocon doesn't have a change in attitude. 🤷🏻‍♀️ That's why you'll only ever see pictures/images of Pierre either with Charles or Yuki, his two real mates on the grid.

I want Gasly to go to Sauber, but on current form he's got no hope of a top 5 team seat. I'm worried

The thing is, from what i am hearing, every team is looking for Ocon whether its Audi, Williams, Haas, even Aston if Stroll wants to leave.. No one wants Gasly except maybe Alpine. So either he stays at Alpine or leaves F1 altogether.

The delima is that it Gasly (or Ocon) were to be offered a ride at Red Bull or Mercedes it would only be 1 year at a time. Audi is the only one that would possibly offer a multi year deal, but they want Sainz. So unless Sainz turns down Audi then Gasly is better staying at Alpine unless he is fed up and goes the WEC route. Williams seat would be available if Antonneli goes straight to Mercedes. But I don't see that happening, so Mercedes could put Bottas back in the second seat for a year and Bottas would take it as he is near the end. So if he were to be able to get a Red Bull/Mercedes seat then every year he would be fighting for his seat. But let's face it Perez is doing enough to keep his seat at Red Bull. So perhaps Gasly should Go and Go to the WEC.

Enjoyed the video and thoughts on Gasly. As much as I hate to say it, Alpine is still his best bet especially if Ocon were to leave. I think he would much rather try and build up a works team (although they are not acting like it) as the #1 than move into a team clearly built around Albon. I also wonder what the Ocon - Vowles relationship is as they had to work closely when both were at Mercedes. I've always thought that Williams would be the next landing for him over Gasly. Also, it's been a slow start for him in 2024 but I would not count him out in the intra-team battle just yet. I expect he'll find his mojo in the upcoming European portion of the championship.

I think Ocon will try to leave if anyone will have him. Gasly should stay put. Look at Haas and McLaren, a lot can change in a short time and they are a works team at the end of the day

Ocon is a terrible teammate. Simple. That's one of the reasons why Alonso left. I can see Gasly at Williams, but if they're willing to pay for a race winner is another thing entirely. (I presume that increases his value)

@@ujjwalgupta4378 It's how he does it that's the problem. Ocon would, has and does go out of his way to beat Gasly even if it means sacrificing points for the team.
