I was thinking about getting an S95. I am quite poor, and people just tell me “Shoot with your phone if you can’t buy anything over $300” . But, honestly the filmy-look of this camera is so sweet I’ve really been thinking about picking one up for video :-)

Oh my goodness, this comment resonates so deeply with me! I remember selling my canon rebel 5 when I got the iPhone 11 Pro because “the new iPhone could shoot in 4K and portraits with depth of field” One of the saddest mistakes of my life. I get more impactful video and photos from my decade old canon sl1 than I do from my iPhone 13 Pro Max ANY DAY. Obviously there are benefits of the phone cameras. But I find it incredibly beneficial to have a camera on you at all times, that is strictly a camera. No apps or distractions. It’s helpful that most of these type of pocketable point-and-shoot digicams have an optical zoom lens that ACTUALLY allows you to zoom shoot. So many benefits! I hope this video helped you. @@DigicamRevival I’ve been binging your channel all day! I love watching all these old cameras, even if I am more into video than photography. The loss of the T5 for iPhone is quite sad… my phone is even worse in my case, because I have an XR, which is quite a lame camera for anything that isn’t basic photograph xD That being said, the XR is totally fine for video- but there is just something about these digicams that looks so nice in their footage and photos. It’s hard to explain… just the colors and look! Maybe it’s the CCD? I’m not sure. And of course, optical zoom being a feature LOL… XR zoom is horrendous. I suppose my main question is… I practice a sport called tricking (basically like if taekwondo and gymnastics had a kid). I’d like to start making videos about it, especially in cool public areas like downtown in the evening, using one of these neat digicams. Since you are much more knowledgeable about this realm than I am, what do you think is the best digicam for my situation (preferably around 100 bucks)? I don’t really need anything big, 720p is fine. If I want more resolution I can always just use my phone. Thank you so much for discussing! :-)

Hi! I can't get this digicam hype. I can tell you, most of digicams has standart realistic colors, I compare canon 950 is, fujifilm f31fd, f40fd, Olympus E-P5 and all of these by default has same natural colors, nothing like vivid contrast film colors. Look at old camera revoews. Some digicams, like newer Fujifilm, has film simulation profile. You need to choose camera carefuly, or edit photos whag youh can do with your mobile phone camera. But digicams still very fun with their limitations and i love them.

Picked up mine second hand over the weekend for $50. The camera was in excellent well-looked after condition. Super happy with it!

Jeff!! I’m so sorry for my delayed response. I manually adjust most of my settings based on the circumstances, although some of these were taken on auto. The only setting I would suggest you try if you enjoy these images, is using the “positive film” setting in the program mode. You can take the jpegs straight out of the camera with no editing and you get images like what you saw in my video ⚔️ hope that helps!

Is it that the photos are not over sharpened , compared to many phones and possibly digital cameras that makes the image so pleasing to the eye ? Thanks for making this video 👍😁

Yes, this is what I am thinking! Like, it’s detailed just enough but doesn’t exceed that threshold where all the tiny flawed details are as visible and whatnot. Psi glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you 🙏

A wider range of example photos would have been appreciated. Will follow along and see how this channel develops...Much Luck too you. I still shoot on occasion with one of the original Powershot cameras the Canon Powershot G5 and love the pixs I get out of it. I also shoot with my everyday carry Lumix DMC ZS3 another CCD camera from back in the day with great imaging.

Also the G2. Filmies are going crazy for it.

@@DigicamRevival i lucked out and got both of mine on ebay and offer up. Look for "untested" which more than likely means they just couldnt charge the battery, I snagged one for $25 and one for $30! meanwhile others are selling for $150-$200

I have an s95 I got if from FB marketplace. The screen flickers when I take or view photos but the output is not affected. Do you think I should have it repaired or buy a new one? The screen is also has like a small fog in the middle

GREAT IMAGES, but I gotta give you a thumbs down, only for the way you trying to talk, I would like to see a video with you talking more likely as you normally do. I think im going to get a S95 after seeing the images you took with this digicam.

Hahaha I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU 😭 I had started to talk normal in my videos and kept getting comments asking me to go back to talking soothingly and kind of lost my authenticity 😔 I’m still incredibly new to this. This video was made on my 3rd month doing this. I’ve been using my comedy channel, to get better at this type of talking head format and I think I’m ready to get back to videos like this. Just been doing a lot of music stuff recently. I actually dropped a video of my friend’s in King Pink, TODAY!

I actually got really lucky and found my Canon S95 at a thrift store for $40. I didn't know anything about the camera at the time. It just felt good in my hands and took a shot at buying it. I didn't know that this camera has a huge cult following.
