The Differences Between Thick, Thin, and Zero Clients

Ғылым және технология

When we talk about clients in technology, be it thick, thin, or zero, we are referring to computers. A processor, some memory, and a connection to a few peripherals like a mouse, keyboard, and monitor are their similar features. Their differences however, are also their distinctions. In this video we walk through the differences between each. Learn more on our blog: www.onlogic.com/company/io-hu...

1:38 what does skeleton operating system mean

Thanks for the question. Here, we're referring to light weight operating systems. Examples of a light weight OS include Windows IoT and various flavors of Linux. There are also operating systems specifically designed for thin client use, like IGEL OS. Ultimately, we're just using "skeleton" here to refer to a "bare bones" operating system.

Thin Clients often have some form of stripped down or minimal operating system onboard and MAY have some onboard storage (though not always). Zero Clients most commonly have no on-board OS and no onboard storage capabilities.
