1.0 better than the 2.0 because is bigger, don’t need the bigger nav on the display because is a bigger screen

Why the heck can't you have the Nav on both the digital cockpit AND the dash at the same time? Also, what prevents the digital cockpit from displaying Nav when CarPlay is enabled? That's crazy.

I agree that you should be able to have in both places. As for CarPlay, (Android Auto too), it is only disabled if you are running turn by turn navigation at the time. It doesn't want you getting conflicting information from two navigation devices at the same time.

I wonder if they'll ever provide an update for the later model virtual dash 🤔

Doubtful. There is a different assembly for the two virtual cockpits.

Does anyone have a issue with there navigation. I have a 2020 sel and once i begin to drive after a few minutes the gps becomes inacurate and the arrow goes to a totally different street. Almost like it needs a recalibration?

If my memory is correct I had to display the map on the infotainment screen (not digital cluster) and clicked the red arrow circle.

I have the second display and I'm not happy that it doesn't show the time.

Order it from your parts department. BUT, if you do not have an SEL or SEL Premium, it still won't work.

MK8 has a digital dash in the US. The Golf R-Line is NOT a US Spec vehicle.

I just installed this on my 19 atlas with the regular gauges😂

You should be able to toggle through the screen options to get to that display. It is usually in your radio settings.

Yes, you can when select a view other than widescreen.

Can vw switch the digital cluster.

You have to turn off Adaptive Cruise Control.

That’s why the European spec on vw’s are better

The new digital cockpit came when Volkswagen launched the faceliftet Passat in Europe in Semptember ‘19.

WHY DOES VW MAKE SUCH A EXPENSIVE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES THAT HOOKS UP TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL THEN DO NOT PUT DAB (DIGITAL RADIO) IN IT .... JUST DOES NOT MAKE SENSE

@@nowisek Everyone to their own .. I like the digital radio channels and do not have to set up a phone to get internet access evetime I get into car... The multi media system is the TOP unit for this vehicle and does not have DAB... Kia and Hyundai and a few other have had DAB for years and so do most other models. Why have this in the same units fitted to same cars in some countries BUT not Australia? I can understand different production lines for left and right hand drive BUT different ones for different countries? VW is way behind on many things including charging pads and also 'wireless' Apple and Android connection., which have also been out for a number of years.

I have a simple question, why would VW do this???

Because they updated it. Same with Kia Ceed, my car has a 8" and a month later they made a 10" nav.
