I'd take Woolen. Sauce has slightly better technique but that's taught. You can't teach him to be faster, or to have more length and reach or as high of vertical... But you can teach more technique to Woolen. That baiting QBs to throw the ball by hanging back and then turning on the burners to catch up and get the interception will bait many into that throw. Seeing it on tape is one thing but in a game the QBs will continue to think naw he can't close that gap... then bam.. pick. Woolen hasn't been playing the position as long and is already very good... under Pete Carrol he will be amazing. Plus Sauce is getting away with a lot of penalties.. He is great. Woolen has way more picks... and they're earned picks not lucky deflections.

Sauce likes to put his hands on the receiver to let him know he’s there but most are not PIs because he doesn’t tug. He’s been consistently doing that all year and refs know it’s not PI.

@@JAy275W You guys forget, sauce and his coach has mentioned part of Sauce development will be learning to get interceptions and less deflections per him leading all corners in deflections. Depending on who the receiver is and qb, eventually Woolen will not be able to "catch up". That's terrible coverage philosophy...and one of his ints was a gimme pass to Tom Brady playing wr. If not for a penalty, he would have had 4 td's against him via Hopkins. The 1 td against sauce, was due to a safety coverage miscue. I've been watching this back and forth for a while and Sauce truly is better overall while facing more top tier wr's than Woolen. it is what it is. 6"4, 4.23 spd tho is scary

Woolen has a far higher potential than sauce does and don’t get me wrong they’re both very very good, but like come on just look at Woolen he is a freak and has way way better hands than sauce does because he was a wide receiver Wallen is going to go just a little bit farther but they both will go very far and be the best corners in the game.

From these clips, Sauce seems more handsy than Woolen. I can see choosing Sauce now, although I wouldn't. Sauce came out of a top-tier college a fully formed college CB, a consensus top 5-10 pick. Woolen was pick 153, in the fifth round. The fact that Woolen is now (after his limited experience as a CB at a lower tier college) being legitimately compared to Sauce in the NFL says all you need to know about his ability to learn and grow. Woolen's ceiling is even higher than Sauce's--more of a freak, and as dedicated as Sauce to his craft. So now, sure, it's close. But longer term, I'd take Woolen. He can be everything Sherman was, and more.

@@DogWalk_videos The difference between Sauce and Woolen, where Sauce has the advantage is marginal. Both players are doing great, but where Tariq excels, it’s not even close. The INT’s, the ability to close gaps and make big plays at almost any time, most of those things can’t be taught. All of those holds and arguable PI’s Gardner isn’t getting called for are because he doesn’t have the closing speed. It’s because he risks being burnt if he isn’t more physical and handsy. I’ll take the guy who can cover based on his willingness to learn and raw physical ability over the guy who is a PI call waiting to happen on nearly every play. Edit: also, the Jets have a better overall defense around Sauce, by a long shot. If Seattle was getting similar pressures run stopping as the Jets, that would only make Woolen’s job easier.

Woolen tied the season total of picks, and was targeted way less. Sauce defended the most passes, but that just means QB's tried him more. Woolen made QB's pay a worse price if they tried him, which is also why he was so thoroughly compared to Sherman. When he was in his prime, people just didn't throw to his side of the field. Anyway fans will just pick their player, but I think Woolens performance was much more impressive. Best wishes to Sauce though, he's gonna have a career

Sauce doesn't turn his head that will become a penalty every time in the future. He also has a number one corner across from him making his life easier as he has a mentorship opportunity. Not to mention every one prefers interceptions to deflections as they are momentum shifters in a way deflections aren't. That being said he is doing extremely well for a rookie. Bit I feel the edge has to go to woolen as he turns his head and can utterly swing momentum of games in his team's favor without a vet offering tips on how to do better.

Sauce should be more complete. He has been playing cornerback his whole career. Woolen was a Receiver that only switched to Corner during his Jr. Year of college. But despite the lack of experience at the position. He is a better athlete. Who is faster and bigger than Gardner. Which means his celling is higher, if he can continue to develop as a corner. Gardner is great and Any team should be thrilled to have either one of them. But Gardner is already pretty polished. Meaning he has less room to grow and get better. While Woolen (the better all around athlete) is just getting started. But they are both phenomenal... Just my "two cents".

Dude also barely played corner in college and when he came into camp the defensive coordinator said he couldn’t catch anything which will only give him more to learn from the position as time goes on. Also I’m taking 4 more picks all day, turnovers win the game and he must have put magnets in his gloves and the ball since he seems to get hands on a ball almost every game. I also didn’t like that Sauce in the news complaining that he was getting less pro bowl votes than Woolen was, seems like a selfish thing for such a high draft pick to be complaining about.
