Somewhere inside Area 51 there's a huge mansion sitting atop a diamond covering about five acres! It's a fun fantasy story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, with a great adaptation by Escape. The sound quality for this 72 year old recording is virtually perfect.

Like many Suspense episodes, this popular story was done multiple times by Escape. I uploaded the 1949 version a couple years back. I've been sitting on this digitally restored/high quality version for quite a while, so I thought I'd pass it on to you! It's one of my favorite episodes (about 90% of Escape episodes are my favorite!)

I love Fitzgerald. The Beautiful and Damned is one of my favorite books of all time but I've never read this short. What an awesome story!
You know, I really enjoy listening to these suspense and escapes when I'm sometimes cooking dinner in the kithen.
Surprisingly good story. Never heard it before! And the sound quality is incredible - I can't believe it's from 1948 - sounds like it was recorded yesterday! Thanks for the upload

There are many reasons I enjoy it so much. I think it's the high production quality of these shows, because they never disappoint. During the 80's and 90's I did voice overs at local radio stations, but I'm not an engineer. What does your son think of the sound quality of these 70 to 80 year old programs? @@SuspenseESCAPEremastered Hello. It's easy for me to forget that they did everything live then. Really needed talent and skill! I feel producing any audio, qualifies a person as engineering. My son's in college. Studying computer program/design. He lives at home,but I can't get him to listen to much! Haha. I'm just discovering these wonderful shows. Your channel is far superior! Bravo! Kinda ridiculous, sad and creative at the same time.
In future could you please upload on 144p or even 240p, this is 360p, which means it burns through people's data plans for audio only for no reason. I love your channel, even more so now with the pandemic. It's a terrific "escape" pun intended. Thanks and best wishes from Toronto Canada. 🇨🇦 👏👏👏 😁

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. As far as the audio files go, I'm at the mercy of KZread. All of my programs are in mp3 format, about 40mbps to 70mbps on average. KZread does the file conversion, and I have no control of that. Still, I'm glad you discovered these great programs - I've been to Toronto a few times - great city! Thanks again - Charlie
