Eleanor of Aquitaine is possibly the most interesting woman of the Middle Ages. Many believe that she was the inspiration for many of the Holy Grail legends written in this period, and she certainly was one of the leading patrons of the minnesingers and artists of Occitan France and Castillian Spain. Sadly, it was her sons and not her daughters who would bear her legacy (though if you can find some histories of Eleanor and Alfonso of Castile, or even more intriguing Joan and Raymond of Toulouse, both are remarkable in their own right). If she had succeeded in convincing Richard to forego the Crusades and instead build the family's power base in Southern France, not only might the history of Western Europe look much different, but so might the history of the Catholic Church.

@Bobbi Cat Certainly, but do not be fooled by youtube either. It is owned by the same gangsters. They have now sensored just about everything on youtube. Total blackout has started. I feel the darkness has fallen at the same time of Julian Assange arrest, although it is a broader and longer process. Facebook also sensors, google too. I barely know a source of honest information people left in the entire world. Klagemauer is the last one maybe. globalresearch went along with the christrchurch fake it seems, so we lost them too. Luke Rudowsky is still going, but those are youngsters and not always watchable for me when they get childish, though Luke is ok I guess. This was fully to be expected. It will get a lot worse. Tyranny is afoot. If Assange is tortured, we are officially in a tyrranny. Word is he could be, no surprise with a gangster like Trump in power who says: torture works. Things are so much worse than people who watch TV and read papers think.

Matilda was fierce, it takes the blood of William I to escape captivity and trudge through ice and snow and still survive . The Male Machine tends to toss aside strong women in history and I’ve always loved Matilda, that was a real OG there .

I was just trying to take a nap watching a nice documentary but this is too intense! Mathilda crawling through ice escaping an army! And Eleanor evading kidnappers to marry the king of her dreams and get revenge on her obnoxious ex! The medieval times were definitely more fun than the 21th century
