Was at this base in 2011 we spent so much time building it up for it to be taken down less than a year later.

It's a slideshow because they're deconstructing a base so the enemy doesn't know the full details on the type or how much protection it has.

@BulletProofQs we are actually retrograding...which is what you see in the vid. 9th ESB replaced me in early 2010 when our mission was destroying the enemy and building FOBs etc, clearing PBs and sweeping/patrols. now you can see them retrograding, which means the way is about over.

@anteracmacash if you signe several different contracts you can end up as a waterdog. you dont choose your job in the Marine Corps, you choose your field - unless you signed a group contract for ground or air.

Yeah. I mean it cost us a trillion dollars that were never going to see back, but maybe we will have actually made a difference over there after we are gone. I have my doubts, but you never know. I'm glad everyone is coming home though. Stay safe out there guys!

@dabbler62 so you're telling me that it's better to send a combat correspondent to take a few pictures and then spend hours of selecting which one of them he'll put into a video together instead of having him bring just a regular camera like every combat correspondent has and let him send all the video footage back to his base??
