The Desmo Service Multistrada 950 - #motovlog
30.000 km and the #Desmo service is due on my #Multistrada 950.
Here we go - finally some more information on what is done.

I was researching quit a bit on what is done during the Desmo service.
Unfortunately, not much is online, be it in the specific forums, web sites, or on any KZread channel.
When my bike was due for the Desmo, I asked my Dealership - #DucatiRomania if I can be present and film.
Just started a new Job, so I was not able to film when the service was done, but my trusted Mechanic Julian made some pictures during the service.

On my first visit, I was able to film and Julian explained me what is done during the Desmo service.
Certainly, the basics, such as oil and oil filter and air filter change, bike checkup.
The most important part of the Desmo, is the valve adjustment.
Additionally the brake pads were changed - after 32.500 km!!! - Yes, the first once.
Not having a technical mechanic background, it was very interesting to get all the information.
I am not sure, if the valve adjustment can be done at home. Ok, we can strip the bike of all fairings and other parts, but do we have the right tools to adjust a valve? I think most of us not.
All the measures for the valve setting you will find in the video and certainly many more information’s.
You might remember back, that I got from #IconicParts the oilcooler and radiator guard.
Now that all fairings where off, Julian was so kind to install the radiator guard.

Desmo service is for us #ducatisti a big thing, and especially the question on how expensive it is. As we all know it varies a lot on where we are based.

Great overview of the Desmo service which my 950 is in for now. By the way really like your seat where did you get it from please.
Great video, no wonder the service is expensive as there's quite a bit of work involved. It's around 1000€ in the UK

Thanks Les! So it is similar. I read in some forums that it can go up to 2000€. I think it also depends a lot on how you treat the engine and on the regular maintenance, and last if you have a good dealership that doesn't overcharge you.. Safe Rides!

Really enjoyed that, thanks for posting it. I've just put a deposit on the new V2s with travel pack. I thought the price you paid for the amount of work done was very reasonable, I'm sure it will cost a lot more here in the U.K when the time comes for me to have the same work done in the next few years.

Thanks Ian! UK might be higher due to labour costs. Spare parts itself they are almost same - at least between Germany and Romania. I wish you loads of pleasant Rides with your new V2s! 🙏

My local Ducati dealer quoted me £1000 for That service. Probably worth going abroad to get it done! Another tour 😊

Un service DESMO peut-il diminuer une consommation d'huile jugée importante?
die ersatz teile muss man selber bestellen oder bestellt er selber oder hat er alles im Lager?braucht mann auch Termine für desmo Service oder? danke

Hi Alex! Termin auf jeden Fall! Der komplette Services dauert je nach dem 8 bis 10 Stunden! In der Regel sollte der Händler alle benötigten Ersatzteile vorrätig haben. Safe Rides!
But using K&N air filter last for lifetime…U just have to wash it periodicaly…
