To be fair the at-te,at-ot and some other republic vehicles were probably used even before the Clone Wars broke out so when the war began, the republic didn’t have time to upgrade them so they used whatever they had available and palpatine probably did’t want to be to powerful.

I remember playing with this tank in the 2002 Clone Wars game, & the original Battlefront I & Battlefront II games. I’m glad this was brought back into canon for EA’s Battlefront II. Techincally this first appeared in the Boba Fett novel Crossfire before the Clone Wars game.

The Saber tank. I remember this legend carrying me in both Battlefront games from the early 2000s and the successor in the 2M Repulsor Tank from EAW. Absolutely legendary! Can't help but love this amazing fighter tank.

Same. It carried me plenty whenever I had to do last stands in Battlefront 2, either by stealing one from the enemy or getting lucky by grabbing one before the command post it spawned at gets captured. Safe to say I have many, MANY memories of using it. Makes sense, as I'm very convinced it was the best tank in the game, by far.

I still have Star Wars the clone wars 2002 game and loved the fighter tanks as I always thought it was a perfect blend between a tank/walker and a speeder bike. It truly was a one man multi role vehicle. Both this one and the one the CIS had in the game. Wish we could've seen it in the tv shows.

Yes, my favorite tank from Classic Battlefront 2! Safe to say, I love this thing to bits.

The story of Hell's Hammers from the EU are a beloved one for me. The Imperial repulsor tank line were really good designs.

Until this video, I always hated having to use this tank in EAs BF2, but now I know it’s because I’ve been using it as a heavy tank like the AAT. While granted it doesn’t have the same boost feature, it makes so much more sense knowing it’s better used as a more agile armored artillery unit. It wasn’t as bad as I thought, I was just using it wrong this whole time lol

I personally like the idea of the TX-130t variant being used to push up into a hectic battlefield and drop off a 4 man clone commando team deep in enemy territory. Or use 2 of them to drop off a 10 man ARC trooper squad too

When you were on the scout bike or staap I think if you got close to a wall or barrier you’d clip into the 2D/3D character model you were controlling, the inside of master Kenobis head still haunts me to today.

You inadvertently brought to light evidence of the rivalry between the Imperial Navy and the Imperial Army. For defense of the Death Star they used surplus TX-130s because the Imperial Army would not give up any of their walkers

Love the saber tank from the battlefront games (old and new). And I am so glad you mentioned the imperial S1 firehawk heavy repulsortank. This is my favorite tank for the empire. Its fast, has heavy armor, and has a very accurate main gun that could easily shoot down airspeeders and low-flying starfighters, plus it had a range of 5km. Also had a medium blaster cannon with a 1km range in a secondary turret. Loved the video, look forward to more!

Honestly like the saber for a main vehicle over any walkers, the saber is super versatile and has some great mobility, of course the empire only upgraded it from there which makes it even cooler👌🏻

I wish we could have got these in the clone wars.. one of the best most practical vehicles.

Wish they used this tank in the Clone Wars show. Was a missed opportunity

Without an Abso-fraking-lute doubt that the TX-130 is one of my Most Absolute favorite Tanks in the Star Wars Universe!!!!! Definitely enjoyed playing the Republic Fighter Tank in The Clone Wars game on my Original Xbox console Definitely glad it made an appearance in recent Battlefront 2 game

I wish it showed up in more media

I remember in the OG battlefront1 the clone trooper variant launched its missiles separately and the imperial version fired them both in a salvo. Plus they had different laser colors. Good times

The TX-130 speed is crazy but I’d like to see what an AT-TE galloping at 60kph looks like.

This and the LAAT/i are some of my favorite vehicles from the CW

this is my favorate hovertank, it is basically how think a hover tank should act like compared to other tank types

The quick and Cool hover tank that is awesome in numbers, and the equal to the Seperatists AAT. Ono of my favorite tanks in sci fi…. Next to the AT-TE of course.

This is hands down the best tank the Republic came up with.

Wait 400km range but it cruses at 192km so barely over 2h of operational time if used flat out? i know that they probably wont do flat out for 2h but still that feels realy short range for a fast attack rig.

Original battle front 2 nostalgia

This tank is Star Wars' version of the Warthog from Halo, it's small, light, packs a punch and seems to be used everywhere by nearly everyone.

I wish this beautiful tank would appear in canon like maybe in bad batch being used by imperial clone troopers or tk troopers

Did this thing ever make it into TCW animated series? I honestly cannot remember ever seeing it.

I really do not understand what was the point of that tracked "tank" in that ambush scene in the city from Rogue One. The dang thing was very low to the ground already and yet they added the main weapons to the sides of the tracks which made it impractical to shoot targets in most if not all environments. Even worse was that the weapon layout was meant for a hover tank which gave it the height and maneuverability to use said weapons but they used it on a tracked vehicle instead.

There is a hover variant of that tank, which we haven't seen used anywhere, but the tank itself is fine, just weird that they wanted a tracked vehicle for the empire though I think an imperial saber tank with an enclosed hover trailed being pulled behind it would have been the best way to do it

Late comment, but I think it is possible, that somebody messed up and showed the tracks that were there to move the setpiece.

I personally think we could really use a Star Wars game that plays like the World of games. Imagine in a Galaxy of Warships game flying around in a Venator fighting Star Destroyers or Providence ships. Or a tank counterpart where you get to play as a Wookiee missile vehicle fighting against people in Hailfire droids.

I feel like the best replacement for the original turret is either the mentioned astromech for cyberwarfare or swapping out the light blaster with a repeating ion cannon in a bubble turret like on the original Y-wing. Having a turrret up top for antipersonnel is useful generally, ion works just as good or better for antipersonnel when your main enemies are droids, AND then you can have the turret gunner soften up shielded targets more effectively so the main guns can take'em down more quickly.

I like this tank very much, both in the model and in battlefront, only a controllable upper turret inside would be nice

Next AT TX? A forgotten walker sadly. Loved that clone wars game back in the day, I was waiting it for months when I was a kid lol, reading every official mags having preview on it.

Kinda surprised they have no connection to the Hoth Snowspeeders. The body designs are very similar, despit their differing roles.

One of my absolute favorite EU vehicles. Sadly I don’t think it got any cooler than in the ‘02 “Clone Wars” game. I always saw it as a Jedi Starfighter OR Snowspeeder on the ground.

The saber’s great, but the 2-M Repulsor tank imo is the goat in terms of design. It’s everything the Saber is but with a proper tank gun.

@Stars90 its really not used like artillery, MAYBE you could say it's used like a field gun, but it's still a stretch, ultimately it's used like a tank would be, which as it's a tank it ads up, bit still in a forward assault saber tanks would still offer a lot considering that they are able to reinforce where your lines are weakest or overwhelm a point if your able to accept casualties and use it to collapse lines

@@calebbarnhouse496 Lol, you're not wrong. Though I'm pretty sure those are the same artillery tanks that are just using interchangeable weapons systems. I guess when space superiority is a part of the battlefield it makes sense to have powerful and unwieldy weapons that can only shoot up. But I don't remember ever seeing in TCW a time when the full force hadn't been deployed to the front (mind you, having the Saber tanks would have been VERY helpful at the Second Battle if Geonosis)

@Stars90 it's known as the stun tank, I've never seen any other guns out on it, it could have other options, but the only thing notable on the wookepdia page is that it does resemble the SPHA, which I disagree with, but it could be the linkage, where they are anti shield tank, so it could be there main purpose was to take down city shields with conjunction with ATTEs

I think it would make a good star fighter model too
