Jaeger can have his guns taken away completely making him melee only and people will still pick him for his gadget. Wamai was meant to be a second option to him, but his frisbees get destroyed by explosive projectiles they grab, and he gets them gradually over the round, vs jaegers ADS which are just so much better.

The problem with maestro is that other defenders do his job better. Valkyrie gives more intel and her cams are hard to find plus she has c4 and a headshot machine, and echo is way better at plant denial plus he has a deployable shield and a good gun. theres no reason to pick maestro other than his gun being better than echo's and valkyrie's

Agree with valk but with echo is kind of debatable,the evil eyes can deny drones and can see through smokes,which yokai can't do,maestro also has better gun than echo. So it's really depends what u want. Plus the evil eyes still require some sort of utility to take down,while yokai can take down by bullets.

As a beginner I want to like Maestro because he appears straight-forward, but I really struggle with making good use of his cameras, since they are so much more difficult to place effectively than Valk's. Many times I find them shattered or going unused if placed on site. Good vid as always, 15k around the corner!

From a Maestro main use his bailiff and impacts to blow a floor or ceiling and put your maestro on the other side, or put them in a position right outside site where you can annoy with your laser while a teammate punishes from another angle. I also like putting them on the wall above a hatch and then shooting out the hatch so no one can walk up and melee.

A good rule of thumb is to place it on a wall next to a hatch and then destroy that hatch with the bailiff so that they can't melee the camera.

that’s why you have to place your cams around you so that you’re almost constantly on them. and why you have to move the lense away from the enemies. he’s definitely a much higher skill op than he used to be. but if you know what you’re doing he’s good on a lot of sites where you double down on utility

Just remember that videos on the subject are done with an experienced players mindset! Always adapt the knowledge to what helps you today, and that you can retain easily! Don't try to force yourself to know everything all at once upon hearing it for the 1st time! You gotta experience the issues in a match to truly understand what you can and can't do to fix them next time. It doesn't hurt watching others on your team too from time to time to pick up on things. You'll get there!

Some people might not know/remember back then, the Alda’s hipfire spread got tighter the longer you hipfired.

I remember commenting about this on your valkyrie vs maestro vs echo video. Seeing maestro acog brings back so many good memories. Idk if his cams can still be place outside but they used to be so good for denying hardbreach. One example is the main wall in armory site on border.

The shattered glass change was so insanely stupid. Makes the game so much less tactical especially with the introduction of the attackers being able to switch ops in drone phase. The amount of counters people like Mira and maestro have is quite high and yet they nerf them. It just requires a minimal amount of team coordination or thought to counter Mira and same goes for maestro except his counters are picked quite frequently anyway. So stupid.

Yeah specifically for maestro it was dumb because, like you said, his counters are picked all the time. With mira it made sense because if you are letting someone melee your mira window its more than likely just down to bad placement.

It is worth noting that with every intentional nerf came an indirect nerf too. Every time Dokkaebi got buffed made her counter him more. Brava also completely ruins his utility and makes him more harm than good with his evil eyes. There’s also many other things like Ash, Zophia, and the gonne-6 that just directly counter the evil eye to name a few. Alda is still crazy good though

Brava begs to differ. Every match I play I see an evil eye existing only long enough to see where a push is coming from. The second it's seen, they're systematically taken out first by brava, zoph, ash, sledge, thatcher, or anyone with an emp or normal grenade. There's a few attacker guns that can kill in 2 hits as well with the long barrel attachment. Those being zero's SC, maverick's m4, iq and grim's commando, and capitao and bravas para. Counters most guns these days, especially slow moving operators. This is just my insight though. Interesting view you got personally, and I like the vid. Good work bro

Maestros cameras biggest downfall besides being able to punch the glass was the armor to health change, making plants much harder to deny especially if finka is picked.

yeah fr, it nerfed a lot of ops, like all the healing ops as well as most trap ops/ ops with damaging gadgets

Me and my friends haven't played in LITERALLY years now, but when we started it happened to be towards the end of the season Maestro released and honestly I never even noticed until like a year later when going through the operator release order. All that aside, I actually happened to be a Maestro main. While I of course didn't LIKE having my main nerfed, it was absolutely justified. The part that I wasn't a fan of is the melee ruining the visibility. In my experience generally playing at high gold to low plat (sometimes a bit higher due to friends being higher ranks) I was actually really good at getting insane value out of his cameras. There was really 2 strategies behind it. Finding sneaky/secret spots that met certain criteria, OR to use it as a support/chip tool catching people by surprise. Attacker pushing an angle? Sneak 3 - 5 shots in on them. Past that just open the lens very slightly to make noise and they'll focus on your camera again. The criteria I'm referring to was basically either unexpected/sneaky spots, spots that were simply hard to shutdown requiring gadgets like say Ash or Zofia, and/or spots that made them extremely safe from EMPs. Border and Kafe both had spots that basically fit the entire bill, nowadays I'm not so sure. Border previously was the Armory/Archives site, you would climb the computer in Archives, go onto the shelf and place a cameras as high as you could on the back wall. Also break the sort of fence thing at the top of the wall to the right. This would let you get vision/scan like half of Offices, the entirety of Archives, most of Armory, and outside of the Archives window. All while being in a spot that is hard if not impossible to reach for attackers at the time I was playing (I know it's changed now) and so certain counters like Sledge/Maverick didn't work, Jager ADS' had to be cleared and frags properly timed, or again gadget commitment like Zofia or Ash. EMPs wouldn't work either if you were on the camera as you just look up and due to the height it's not really killable. Kafe was basically the same, Kitchen site in the room west of the objective. There was a sort of shelf you could climb on with the right angle. Basically all the criteria was the same, difference was attackers could also climb up but often didn't know how so less exposed to do so, but less often done. Bonus was this spot also faced one of the primary push points for attackers and breachers were popular picks when guessing a Kitchen pick, because of how out of the way it was you could often sneak a free first pick onto the breaching gadgets. Btw goofy strat that was awful but fun was doing run outs as Maestro to place the Evil Eye on certain sites. It would USUALLY just get trashed, but if the attackers didn't think about it you could really do some damage with it destroying gadgets, getting chip on the attacker's entry to site, etc. My 2 favorites were (again) Border Armory running onto that balcony part outside Armory and placing one in the corner, or the worst by far was Chalet making a hole in the garage door by snowmobile, running out and placing a camera then reinforcing after. If they rushed fast you were doomed, if they were a bit slow it was at least SOMETIMES a threat.

A good tip for using his evil eyes. If you put them as hugh up as possible in a wall. You can make the camera look up at the ceiling and it makes it so it cant be punched by attackers.

One thing people don't use maestro for, is that hes a great pick for when the site has a hatch above, since you can place a cam and destroy any util on the hatch, or have the attackers waste util destroying the cam.

With Brava being a thing now though, he's even worse- putting those cams down guarantees an attacker switches to Brava and turns them into a gigantic liability. I know I've done it and literally hobbled the entire enemy team.

The idea of bulletproof glass being immune to getting cracked by bullets but getting cracked by a simple melee hit is ridiculous. This is such a shitty change.

Sounds silly but personally I would like him to have the prb pistol (same as capital) just so he has some useable secondary firepower… the reload rework makes his lmg a lot more restrictive to use due to its lengthy reload and a semi auto pistol might help counteract that.

I dont care what anyone says Maestro will always be my go-to. Amazing with a plan and still viable without a plan. fun LMG and funny Auto DMR. Not to mention the Impacts+Balif can open site and open walls to increase camera sightlines.

I can't just let that "One of the worst operators" slide. I have a friend who's a Clash main and he's able to almost singlehandedly turn the game into a win just from how he plays Clash. She does have counterplay but I almost never see anyone actually pick counters to her and they suffer for it. A lot of really bad games I've been in have been straight up won because of Clash.

I will say, I play Maestro a lot in ranked and you can easily prevent brava from hacking them by destroying her drones with your evil eyes, or just bringing a mute. If you let it happen its a devastating counter. But its hard for a Brava to pull off

clash is a great op the only issue it has is that it's an intel operator and it needs his team to support him which many people don't have. A clash can go in places and use audio and the ability of a shield that gives us where attackers are and more. And lesion is the most not nerfed operator bc if you ban IQ there is no counter for it. And even with IQ not being banned not many people pick her and not many people practice her ability and teamwork with it. A lesion mine slows attackers surprise them makes audio and he has about 4 mines by the first 30 sec of the action phase which many attackers are even outside the map. The only intel op that can compete with it is solis which is a game changer herself and a great range of seeing electronic devices.

Clash is good vs bad players and get progressively worse as you climb. Especially with atk repick good players and team will swap to zoph Kali impact emp nades ect and just immediately deal with you.

With the arrival of Brava Maestro got even worse. His cameras can easily be hacked. Valk and Echo do the Job better with gadgets, that can't be found and hacked so easily.

Give him a 1.5 and he will reign terror once again

Worst part about maestro and mira is how Azami kibas take 3 hits to shatter yet maestro and mira take 1 hit they should make it require 5

YESSSS, He was one of the first operators I've bought when I first started playing and ever since then he's been so difficult to use with his camera sensitivity. We need individual camera sensitivity in settings.

Maestro finally got a massive buff in the latest season, attackers gaining use of evil eyes thru kludge drones makes his eyes insanely useful. I take maestro every round and watch the pathetic defenders get zapped to death.

The acog is a deciding reason for picking an operator. You are lying your ass off if you say otherwise, if it really doesnt matter everytime you use a dmr or slow firerate high dmg gun use a 1x. Spolier alert its not fun, also the acog or any greater than 1x scope gives mainly defenders the ability to spawnpeek with a better advantage than with a 1x and hold angles that are further away. I can tell you with a 200% garantee that if ash were to randomly get acog in this current meta, her pickrate is skyrocketing to 70%

Honestly he is still good it's just that his job done better by valk lot of the times and upto extent by echo sometimes.

Thunderbird never have a really impact on the game? Really? I Always find Thunderbird in any defensive team. I was used to ban her sometimes and now in my team is a must pick. I can't say she was meta when she first came out because I didn't play yet but with the meta. We have now she is honestly kinda trash he gun has been nerfed to shit because of finka she lost her 3 speed rating which isn't a big deal but something that made her more appealing than other healing ops like doc. She only has 1x sights on a gun that isn't very good in the damage department and fire rate her heals are also kind of iffy because of the doc buff and rook buff. So the only thing she has for her is an okay gun a 2 speed impacts a c4 and okay heals. Sounds like she's only good for console lmao 😂

I disagree with your assessment on the alda releasing more op than the skorpion. Yeah it has a higher amount of bullets, but 41 bullets, at 900 rpm, with no recoil, angled grip, and on a three speed defender? Nah, alda was good but not THAT good.
