Nobody asked me but here i am I only used gravity and cure in my first casual playthrough and gravity only during hollow bastion and on the behemoth bosses cause they were just annoying and stretched way too long

it's insane how hard final rest is on lv1, it's even hard to believe that people completed it 10 years ago shortly after KH1 LV1 was a thing. I think it was Cyberman who used simba in final rest, and sometimes it feels unreal that to this day we probably wouldn't have passed that part for a while without his contribution.

Ive poured hundreds of hours into this game over the course of a decade+, and today I learned: 1. Genie Jafar can heal Iago. 2. That you can room save Captain Hook and opposite armor to not replay the previous fights if you die. 3. You can climb the branches in the maleficent dragon fight (this one was kind of just dumb of me not to know) 4. You can leave the Chenabog arena by going upward?

The devs knew that monstro would annoy some people so they put in an easy yet subtle compass…. The door you need to go through to progress always glows green

Geppetto also hints at this after enough badgering. Same way Flounder hints at the dolphin and Jane hints at saving the gorillas from the Powerwilds. The game does tell you where to go. It’s just very obtuse about it.

Never feel bad from a "failed" challenge. This was one of the most entertaining KH1 vids from you and a great learning experience.

scan doesn't affect anything, just shows you why casuals don't try level 1 😂

I'm not surprised this ultimately turned out to be impossible, but it did surprise me that there's only a handful of fights that made it impossible. kudos to you for sticking with it and doing as much of it as you could, and tbh beating like 95% of KH1 LV1 Proud with no MP is still a hell of an accomplishment and definitely something to be proud of

Just wanted to say sorry you couldn't do this, man. You put so much grind in and effort, and I really respect and love that about your stuff. Always amazing to see how much you push this game, thank you!

Insanely impressive run. I really can't blame you for giving up on Final Rest. That part is insanely hard even with everything at your disposal.

Ikr. I did an unchanging armor run where you can't change any gear ever and had a hard time on beginner.

Imagine opening KZread and Ninten LITERALLY just dropped this banger of a video, made my day being this early to your vid, love your challenges and your patience with it, truly the GOAT!

Christ.... this sounds insane to do.... But actually seeing it, this is easily the hardest KH challenge i've ever seen. And yet it still could be worse... cause imagine doing all of this with 1 HP only

Massive respect to you my dude! This challenge was insane and the extent to which you persevered through it is inspiring. Chin up mate, you are a champion regardless and even attempting something this crazy is something to be proud of.

Magic in KH1 is just so powerful!

You are really brave for even attempting a challenge like this because even the thought of it would be enought to tell you it's impossible. You tried anyway and wow you made it to FInal Rest, beat basically all of the cups including almost the entirety of Hades Cup. Switching to magic at the end was innevitable to happen because of how hard this game is at Level 1, feeling like you failed isn't something you should feel especially since you made it this far. I'm glad you learned such a valuable lesson at the end and I hope you keep that lesson in mind every time you try anything challenging. And of course, amazing video as always!

Honestly kudos to you dude, if it were me I’d be loosing my shit if I were to tackle this. Your patience is incredible man.

I would have thought you'd just not press the magic buttons on the command menu but no you gave yourself one winged angel so you don't even have the option XD you go above and beyond for these videos, i love to see it

No magic by itself doesn't seem too hard, I think in my run I mostly only ever used magic for Cure, but the permanent level 1, now I see the challenge of this run.

This video is incredible. Even if you couldn’t do it, how far you managed to make it is astonishing. Great job on this challenge

insane effort for the video ninten your kh combat skills are just.. godtier imo (just really insanely skilled) that perseverance is insane

I tried a "all trophies on one run" playthrough, but got stuck on final rest. Not necessarily because it was hard - which it is - but because of the "three minute load screen" that is the behemoth fight before hand. I think I'd have ground it down if it weren't for that. But this. This is madness. Thanks!

The first way I found to cheese Dragon Maleficent was to just chill out on the thorns on the edge of the battlefield. Only the green fireballs can reach you, and those can be parried IIRC. Meanwhile, just rely on your immortal teammates to deal damage. Just come in for the final blow.

Honestly refreshing to see One-Winged Angel in action. I always have Ultima by the time I get to unlocking it, so I don’t really ever use it.

For the red door in Traverse town you can bring an enemy near it, have donald cast fire, and kill the target on reaction so the fire hits the door. Don't ask how i know this

19:05 it's hilarious how you've just recently discovered that she has a lightning attack. Hilarious because I just discovered it roughly around a month ago (around the same time of this video of yours being uploaded) thanks to watching my wifes first playthrough of KH1.

My first proud run of kh1 stopped at final rest because I never realized the difference between proud and non proud final rest and it just became so unenjoyable

After literally years, I know what happens if you equip one-winged angel when you have only 2 MP.

Dang couldn't believe it that you didn't do it.. hopefully next time you take on this challenge it will be successful!

Some of my favorite vids of yours are the lighthearted vids. Your KH2 form only runs and your rando runs. Don't force yourself to keep pushing further than is healthy.

Also, Black Fungus is pretty RNg, but I'd think they're easier than anything else that spawns from Halloween Town onwards. A critical hit beats those instantly. But idk how often the One Winged Angel will crit.

Not only did he do this challenge, but he did another challenge on top of this one, which I’m noticing pretty well, he didn’t use the guard button A SINGLE TIME. So he made this much harder than it normally needs to be.

Guard isn't in your normal abilities at the start like later KH games would have it. When you get Guard entirely depends on what you pick when choosing on leveling up and I believe you get earliest with the shield? path??

im curious which gpu ur using... just got 7700xt and it crashes at random points messing with options. people saying they having problems modern warfare too , amd sided

idk if you did it before, but I'm curious to see a "My Friends are My Power" run. i.e Only the party members (Goofy,Donald) can attack, Sora can't besides supporting them with items or healing. Of course, there would be some exceptions like in the start of the game and some areas like the final ansem fight but still, interesting to see.

Honestly would love to see you attempt a main line KH no hit run and when you do get hit you restart from the beginning

against dragon maleficent your strat of waiting for her to move to the side to give her a free combo is pretty good, but you must wait for her second step to be over before comboing her. she is coded to do 2 steps every time, so if after her 2nd step you're not just in front of her, she will do another sequence of 2 steps to be in front of you. Also, you could just jump just at the moment her animation for the first step starts, so you have some extra time

before even starting the video i can say its possible because as a dumb little kid i did the whole game without magic because i did not know about the quick slots and would manually scroll to magic and did not enjoy doing that at all so it was all melee attacks and an occasional heal if i could be bothered. never beat phantom, never beat any other optional boss, somehow still loved every moment and was a kingdom hearts fan afterwards.

I knew Sora was wearing a onesie in KH1, but that does not mean I want to accept it.

I can confirm that you can because as a kid, I didn't know that shortcuts were a thing and menuing was too hard (except for potions which i learned how to navigate to because Genie Jafar was too hard) Now... As a level 1 run? Uh... no lol

Most if not all KH 1 level 1 strats revolve around murdering people with magic mostly. Without magic this is a pure skill no bullshit run

This is just my first playthrough oh kh1

After just beating linked worlds and final rest myself at lvl 1 seeing it no mp is fucked. wow just wow ninten XD

I thought this was how normal playthrough was as a kid...

It's very possible only issue I had with this run was healing with items which wasn't too bad after I had donald set to follow sora and do heavy healing

Only magic I EVER used was Cura, and its many forms. I also disliked summons, and could easily get through the game without them

i did it with kingdom key and no summons but with cure getting to the last room right before the final boss fight and quit cause it got rediculous

Does it count if you only used heal??? I played the entire game, not using magic. But it's actually a little necessary against sephiroth (wind shield) and one of the secret bosses.

Hey there, Ninten. I know this video is two months old and you might not ever see this comment, but I just wanted to write this regardless. You're a legend in the KH community. Not because you do these challenges, complete WR speedruns, or anything like that. You're a legend because you TRY. You come up with amazing ideas, genuinely care about your content and community, put out extremely helpful information and just generally are a great person. I used to frequent your chat on Twitch multiple years ago and I always felt welcome and like I could be part of the conversations that were going on. Even though I haven't been around in a long time, I always think about the times I had there very fondly. Especially considering those years were some of the most difficult for me in my life. I truly wish to let you know that you and your streams/videos made those terrible times bearable for me and I have no idea what I would have done without them. Thank you so much for everything you do. I hope life, in and outside of stream, goes amazingly for you.
