Awesome times and I’ll never get over that feeling of the jet dropping down for a flyby. Lifetime experience!

Nice trip report. Please drive slowly through the springs since the talc dust on the roads is easily stirred. The rock art around the springs evolves from time to time. The big lizard was once a moon, then Kokopelli, and now a lizard. Thanks for not flying drones in the park as some social media types do. Always be mindful of group size when camped in the park. Not surprised about the failure of the non-stock rim. Factory engineers are paid much more than most aftermarket companies aside from true racing companies. You got some good flybys. Good times.

I enjoyed both videos of you DV jounery. I did find it amazing that you got the F250 through Steel Pass.

The F-250 made it through dedeckera canyon with ease!! Rather impressive-- chalk it up to the long wheelbase.

Went through Steele Pass last week. Most of the road is completely gone and replaced with large sections of washout. At times the way forward is unclear. Fairly rough even for my lifted Jeep. Interesting to see in this video what it used to look like.

The very worn tires on some of the vehicles made me a little anxious

I love seeing 4Runners on these channels! However, there is nothing worse than being on these technical routes with the one friend who insisted on using his oversized 3/4 ton + pickup trucks

I wouldn't go knocking full size rigs, ground clearance was the bigger issue with the Raptor. The lifted Ford F-250 made it through Dedeckera Canyon much easier than any of the mid-sized Toyotas and Lexuses.

I have a 3/4 ton longbed pickup and a 2007 suburban I'd rather take my truck but the suburban is a half ton and rides much smoother on wash board roads but it also has plastic front and rear bumpers not good approach angles my pickup is a 98 with steel bumpers and a 454 (bad milage) I would be willing to put a lift kit one one but not both suggestions?

Hey Ben! What part of the month did you hit up this trail? how was the wind? What time did you find camp if you have stock lights? Looks fun! Would love to do it soon

Week leading up to Thanksgiving. And we lucked out, no major wind events, which is a rarity in the desert!

So to confirm on this route the Waterfall section can be skipped? A friend of mine has a stock Subaru Outback and it looks like nearly everything is a graded road. I want to make sure this route could be done on just the graded dirt roads.

I would not suggest taking a Subaru through Dedeckera Canyon anytime let alone in it's current state after the recent storms. There is also a deep sand area from the dunes before the Dedeckera that can be an issue even for some 4x4s. The recent storms have caused many road closures in DVNP so checking the parks road conditions page is advised.

You can't skip the waterfalls in Steel pass, as there is no bypass, but there are several ways to get to Warm Springs, Steel pass being the most challenging and the cameras don't do their height or steepness justice. It is not a Subaru friendly route, but it is a ton of fun.

Those tires needed replacement 10k miles ago. How do people go to Death Valley with their kids like that? You're not driving in my group with those tires and guaranteed not getting invited again.
