THE DEATH RAILWAY AND BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER KWAI
Japan constructed the metre - gauge railway from Bang Pong, Thailand to Thanbyuzayat, Burma. The line passing through the Three Pagodas Pass runs for 250 miles. This is now known as the death railway.
The railway was meant to transport cargo daily to India, to back up their planned attack on India. The construction was done using POWs and Asian slave labourers in unfavourable conditions. The work started in October 1942 and was completed a year later. Due to the difficult terrain, thousands of labourers lost their lives. It is believed that one life was lost for each sleeper laid in the track.

Death railway has been done to death. Far too many vloggers on Thailand. Please show us something more interesting Sulawesi in Indonesia or Malaysia. Thailand is just too boring now.

hardly true..i seen more and more vloggers going around thailand filming the same story over n over again..just like they following path to one another..but that also make me love thailand so much..😊
