She's not completely ending. Google is allowing users to repurpose stadia controllers as a Bluetooth controller for other devices. I bet Merryweather will put that in the lore somewhere.

It's also worth noting that the technology that they worked on is likely not going away. It's very likely we will see a lot of what was built for stadia used elsewhere from other companies.

@@Dewm_ tbh stadia was a okay platform around a year after launch, it just had a terrible launch and had major lag at launch, it was more or less due to not putting enough data behind it(pretty much google like a lot of its products just threw it into the wild to see if it would sink or swim before the product was truely ready to do that, it pretty much sank in the eyes of everyone and only like a couple months after people gave it a second attempt and was getting better) so more or less google is the one to blame here. A lot of their products arent really tested besides in optimal conditions so yeah no wonder it failed but the tech from stadia has been shown to be used in other companies attempting playing video games with the syuff in it, it has preformed much better then stadia in terms of lag and basically graphics

@@BooleanDev I'd argue that the market's primed for game streaming, the problem is that said market is a niche market segment of the rest of the gaming market. Game streaming targets people with a decent internet connection with a desire to play games that don't have the hardware to play it themselves (and the game's not competitive). That's a fairly fixed market segment if you think about it relative to the rest of gaming.

Now I feel like getting conditioned to react appropriately to sad anime scenes with build up is a thing, regardless of how connected you feel to a character. Like prior to this I saw stadia only once in a previous comic some time ago and now I already felt like I went through a whole anime season with her and Switch-chan, where this was the 11th ep with the emotionally breaking ending and then the bittersweet 12th about focusing on the nice memories and how to move on.

Agreed. At first when watching this video I thought "Man, that's so sad. I feel so bad for Stadia and all its employees." Then I remember the absolute shitshow that the real Stadia was and how it NEVER improved. Got so much whiplash from that. 🤣

When she first appeared she acted just as bossy and self-centered as Chrome did in the IE series, but her getting scared of her shortcomings and later befriending the Switch changed that.

Well done to the voice actors 👏, they did a brilliant job. They managed to make us go through the gambit of emotions in only a few minutes. Great job guys!

It had a terrible run from the outset, and that poisoned first impression doomed it for the rest of its run. Bad impressions, no player base, no empirical data to show this was worth the investment, less time and resources given to it, more bad impressions, and on the death spiral goes until... splat. _Omnia mors perimit et nulli miseretur,_ Stadia-chan. In time, we will all go to where you have gone first.

@@PeterDivine Cloud gaming is doomed to fail. If they just streamed PC games then maybe it could've had a niche use case, but from what I've read it requires custom development from the developers to make the game compatible with Stadia's servers, it just can't get enough developers to do that.

@@user-ku7qj9of4c They treated the game Studios worse. They didn't even get a chance to finish their first game before they pulled the plug. They launched the Montreal Studio in October 2019 and the Los Angeles Studio in February 2020. Only to have them shut down in March of 2021.

Stadia and all cloud gaming is dead from the start. The concept is cool but the infrastructure isn't there to support it. The amout of data needed to be transferred and the speeds need just isn't available to a large enough population to make it a profitable or even a break even system. Its doomed from the start.

How dare you make me cry like that! I actually felt bad for Stadia when I was first laughing at how badly it failed. Now I wish I never did at all.

Never owned or played on Stadia, so why can’t I stop crying?

It's like a dog that wants to be adopted from the pound, but has terminal cancer- poor thing just doesn't have a chance, because anyone who could choose it is just going to choose something that's objectively better, given the option. I know that switch chan is a fan favourite and this scenario worked well with her, but in reality she was the one which had the less in common with Stadia, nor was she her rival. On a side note I find funny how she doesn't look sad at all at 2:50, which would be very on character for her Nintendo persona- she's cute and fun, but remember- she is souless and doesn't give a damn.

Stadia-chan definitely had more crossplay opportunities with Kaiba's-Coat-chan and Minifridge-chan.

Let's be honest it was like a cancer patient out of a door it was Just in remission at the start but it really quickly went back.

As soon as I saw that Stadia had officially shut down I knew Merryweather was going to make something really sad with it. But good god man.

Betrayed by her patrons, Stadia drifts into dreamless slumber, mourned only by the ones who believed in her and the few enemies who were good to her regardless of where she came from. She never thought that included the very rivals she was supposed to conquer in the name of the Tech Conglomerate. No physical copies to call her own, no drive hardware to keep her going. Her gods had abandoned her, but her enemies...her friends did not. Maybe, she thinks, that makes this okay in the end.

At least Stadia has one physical part that I can remember her by.... The Stadia Controller!

Stadia was completely awful but not even Stadia deserves this as an anime girl. It's a good thing that switch came when she did and stayed by her side until the very end. She is one heck of a friend. Rest in Peace Anime girl Google Stadia, you are loved, and you are special.

@@christopherstanley4837 I once tried playing Final fantasy XIII on cloud using a mobile phone. And the only thing I can say is. "You really need a very high speed wifi and strong connection to play it smoothly."

While Stadia may not have been the greatest of consoles while being run by a group of people that have who knows how many failed projects, they will still be missed by those who enjoyed their time along with switch-chan who has lost one of her closest friends. Stadia, perhaps in the future when gaming takes a different turn is when you'll be able to shine brightly but until then may your legacy live on in both the hearts and memories of everyone.

We made her, but the rest of the current tech she was expected to use just wasn't as good as it needed it to be for her to flourish. I feel a _little_ bad for Stadia, but I'm gonna cry once Switch's onee-chan 3DS-chan who's in the hospital finally passes. Nintendo-sensei says she only has until March to live. I had so many great memories with her. I think Switch-chan will understand that I will dedicate my gaming time to the time 3DS-chan has left.
