The Deadly Pearls - CBS Radio Mystery Theater
Музыка
A detective tries to track two radioactive pearls that were used to commit murder
CBS Radio Mystery Theater (a.k.a. Radio Mystery Theater and Mystery Theater, sometimes abbreviated as CBSRMT) is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed.
The format was similar to that of classic old time radio shows like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler, in that the episodes were introduced by host E. G. Marshall who provided pithy wisdom and commentary throughout. Unlike the hosts of those earlier programs, Marshall is fully mortal, merely someone whose heightened insight and erudition plunge the listener into the world of the macabre (in a manner similar to that of "The Man in Black" on yet another old time radio program, Suspense).

I’m just amazed by the high fidelity of the sound which is even better than the FM stereo they were broadcast on when I originally listened to them.
Great story! Love CBS RMT. Listened when I was a kid--on a transitor radio. Great sound quality on this upload. Thank you!
Thank you once again for loading this drama. I really enjoyed it. I love the variety that you download. Love from South Africa
Just discovered and love, love, love 💕 this! What a refreshing escape from 2021. Can’t thank you enough.
Thanks for uploading them! Great story.
I really enjoyed this. It sounded like a "Film noir" and something that had been recorded 1935-1940. It's surely not going to be long before computers can change voices to sound like famous actors. Maybe some time in the future we'll hear this play again but with the voices of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart?

@Ian Rivlin I agree
Really enjoyed the ending... nice change from the "macabre"
Really enjoyable thank you great story throughly engaging 👍
Great story that’s somewhat different from the norm. The acting is a little over-the-top in spots, but it creates an endearingly film noire sort of atmosphere that fits well with the assignment and the colorful characters. I truly felt like I was stranded with them in their small island community.
That was delightly creepy. Such fun!
Thank you! Very enjoyable 😊
" who the hell are you" this makes me laugh every time I hear it.

great story!
I heard this show years ago on a podcast. Good stuff
Thank you
I love these plays but I wish someone would buy an oil can, Many Thanks xx
It's debatable whether or not she should have been told about the pearls. Perhaps, there are not many who realize the reference to how the Greeks used the pearls, and the fact that she sometimes took them to bed with her. Heated physical pleasure was said to have been derived from insertion of a string of pearls. Don't ask me, I wouldn't know. It seems quite sad about radium poisoning. Very good narrative and good story.
Cheers ✌🏽
Listening
Very nice
thanks
the hinge noise ? each time 🤔
🥺
An ending so subtle Im not even sure what happened. So the old lady had radium painted pearls or what? All 3 ppl tried to kill him, why? All 3 ppl had pearls so which were the ones he was supposed to be finding?

Mrs. Babcock had the radium pearls. She gave it away when she said, oh no they're not wearing. I love to fondle them. Her hands were severely arthritic. I feel sorry for her. I can't really figure out why the other two tried to kill him. I didn't ferret their motives. Sorry.
Yayyyyy
I try over and over to listen to this series but the noise of the creaking door is like nails on a chalk board. I listen while in bed at night so... Nope l can't do it.

Mute the 1st 12seconds of each episode. It's what I do. The creaking door is seriously overdone.

IKR? That creaking door is So overdone, as is the overly dramatic music. I do the same. Just mute my way through.

Get rid of the creaking door? Are you serious? That's my favorite part.
Chadeck ?

Too much loose ends... Awful ending. But from the beginning until the part he was dumb enough to eat the stew was very good.
The ending is poor.
This story doesn't make sense.
The melodramatic "da da daaaa!!" musical chords are way over the top. The story was uninvolving and rather dull. I don't think I'll be back.
what? muddled plot....terrible acting....
