I live in NY and Darien Lake is a main attraction here. I remember as a kid hearing someone died at Darien Lake. Honestly the ride the man died on is really fun. Poor dude shouldn't have gone on without legs though

4:20 inversions do not dictate the type of restraint used on a rollercoaster, there are plenty of rollercoasters that go upside down and have lap bars. The type of restraint used on a given rollercoaster is based upon the G forces that the ride exerts on the riders. Shoulder restraints are not safer than lap bars; lap bars used on high thrill coasters are designed in such a way that the only way to fall out when the lap bar is locked, would be to cut your legs off. Tons of physics and calculations are done to decide the restraint that a rollercoaster will use, and they are built to keep you secured in the ride whether or not you choose to put your hands up. The only way you’d be in danger of falling off a rollercoaster when the restraint is properly secured (as tight on you as it needs to be), is if you don’t meet the height requirement. So do not try to cheat the system if you aren’t tall enough or are too tall.

When i was like 8 or 9 i HATED rollercoasters and any rides with a big drop, but my family took me to a park with a ton of rides. My cousin took me on a water ride that i didn’t want to go on, so i got off the log (while it was in motion) before the biggest drop and guilt tripped a dad that was walking around to help me jump the fence 😀

If the seatbelt wasn’t proper the ride would shut down. There are safety precautions so she was likely safe but the seatbelt wasn’t 100% fastened

In Lego land when I was younger, I went on this dragon themed coaster, and I was way to skinny for the seatbelt… it was fully tightened and I could still move fully and get out easily, it was extremely short and tame but terrifying nonetheless. I was holding on for dear life the full time and never trusted a rollercoaster again

Happy to know that a month before I wentto universal for the first time, my favorite ride there had a bee infestation. Guess I made a good decision to re-book it to November.

Some coasters do feature lap bars that feature inversions (aka what takes you upside down) during the ride, one great example is Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point. Not trying to throw any hate on you, but just wanted to correct you simply. Just what I needed before I went to six flags in 2 days

This reminds me of water slide i went on in gran caneria, it wasnt the highest but it was dangerously steep with this bit in the middle that breifly leveled out before dropping again and going into the pool. You would leave the slide 8 outta 10 times going down it on the leveled out bit and feel yourself landing back on the slide 1second later, continue into the pool and skim along the surface abit. How no one died on that slide is beyond me this was like nearly 10 years ago now and dont know if its still open or if anyones been killed or injured badly from it but i know i had some small bruises on my back and my sister went on it once, hurt her back on the leveled bit then didnt go on it again, i loved it and 17year old me didnt realise the danger this slide had and went soo much i was on first name with the life guard at the top and would have a couple drinks in the evening with them if i they was in the bar when we went there

OH MY GOD! THIS REMINDS ME!! I was at an amusement park and it was those chair things that go in the air and spin around, it was held up by two chains per chair and the belts were like on the shoulders. it was making creaking noises that were loud and the chains spun around almost crazily. there was clinking noises and banging every time it moved off to the side.
