McConkie was a living apostle of the Holy Messiah, Jesus Christ. And the words he speaks are true.

What great love he had for us by speaking from his heart on our behalf to press forward with a steadfast in Christ, and endure to the end in order to gain eternal life. We are blessed to have his words to remind us to repent and strive to be pure in heart ❤️.

Dead is the passing from one room to the next room. There is a fine line between life and dead. Spiritual preparation and secular preparation are both important. They both are going to help us to be prepared to serve God in this life. But spiritual preparation is essencial when we cross the veil. It is also important to overcome this mortal body and this world.

Great and straightforward talk. And wow, was he foretelling that his death was nigh at hand? I thought it was in another talk he did this, in which he was a little more emotional. Sunday ngt - June 26, 2022.

He wasn't a very empathetic speaker, but most people read what he wrote.

Wasn’t empathetic? I think he was blunt about those who waste the days of their probation which might come off as not being empathetic to some. The wicked take the truth to be hard as Nephi once wrote. Many people like to think that a loving God will turn a blind eye to “little” sins but McConkie exposed the painful reality that this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God and that procrastination or mediocrity will cost us plenty.

@@ensignj3242 I agree with your comment. Some apostles just say what needs to be said. He was obedient to the Spirit and to his holy calling.

I think he was very emphatic, especially with his tone. With that tone of voice, all he had to do is speak, and it would be emphatic.
