The DARK Truth: Royal Navy Boss's CRAZY Comments on Military Diversity

Ойындар

'The head of the navy has said that the military’s own diversity targets “can lead to some strange behaviours”.
Admiral Sir Ben Key, the First Sea Lord, admitted he felt “nervous” about targets despite the Ministry of Defence’s goal of ensuring 30 per cent of the armed forces new recruits’ are women by 2030.
The “30 by 30” policy, first set in 2021 by the former defence secretary Ben Wallace, threatens to cause controversy.'

Tim love the videos keep making them, you mentioned the new rifle that the royal marines and i think the new Ranger Regiment are getting touching upon the old SA80. When we first changed from the SLR to the SA80 it was nicknamed the civil servant. As it never worked or couldn't be fired.

I was a loadmaster on C130 back in the 80's and took the very new, (not yet introduced to full service) 'SA80' team to NI to show it the troops. Even then the SSgt told me it was a piece of crap....which it proved to be.

Tim, I was recently in an information security brief. A certain segment of the brief was regarding social media use and the Police officers delivering the brief spent a great deal of time talking about you and Fill your boots. They spoke at length about how you both damage the image of the military….instead of discussing on how people’s concerns aren’t being listened to. I’m assuming the people that have told you that were sat in the same briefing.

The damage that is being done is by woke directives which will be seen to cause death and chaos in war time. Women by all means for specific jobs but the job must fit the gender/ability. We are different. Same thing for demanding percentages based on race. Then it will be race and gender gets accelerated promotion (like the police.) All this adds up to not the best person for the job. It aint rocket science. Also you are entitled to free speech and we the viewer can decide the rights and wrongs of it and make our own minds up. As it is I agree with you 100 percent having served for 24 years.

I had the same issue in the financial sector (abrdn - check their share price since 2015). I was openly critical of their quota system diversity and was pulled in for a chat with HR. I said I was a free marketeer, so everyone deserves an equal chance but the best person gets the opportunity. I also gave them an example of how I had been discriminated against for age - the response was a lot of excuses. SO, although I am hardly Gen Z, I left as I can do without the crap. They are just scaring people away.

I have noticed an interesting trend in recent years. I hold a Law degree from UCL and an MBA from Heriot-Watt. I get along perfectly well with people, who don't have a degree, or well-qualified people. We just accept that we bring various skills to the job and get on with it. However, the issues seem to break out with people, who either have comedy degrees or more likely went to these unis, which were made polys 30 years ago. They seem to get really chippy and try to impose themselves on me. These HR people usually have HR Management degrees, so I suspect they are indoctrinated with this nonsense at a very impressionable age.

When you push against military hypocrisy they always resort to discrediting your character. They abuse a reputation of integrity, built on the shoulders of service men and women who HAD integrity back when an OJAR wasn’t priority one. We see it time and again. In my experience, it’s offering allowances to support service families (on paper) without any desire to honour those claims, seeking any excuse to make the process difficult, laborious, impossible to decipher and ultimately easily rejected. If you highlight these issues on any level that can be taken seriously, ‘we will’, as Wg Cdr Watson (OC Ops Odiham 2010) said to me directly ‘nail you to the floor’.

You have to wonder why they don't go direct , its costing about $9000 in UK for weapon with sight . Base weapon is about $5,500 in USA without sight and you usually get discount for large orders. US army paid about half the $1000 -1200 for Colt M4 . The new KS-1 weapon has a hammer forged barrel which is precision ground before the rifling for greater accuracy and more refined precision working parts, this is reason for higher cost. This weapon should be issued to entire armed forces.

They must know if they had 30% women in the armed forces it will have serious issues with absences etc My last unit as an Army SNCO I had to do my Sqns station duties so often the RSM and QM asked me if I had extras. 2 female SNCOs were single mums and did no duties and one had a year off virtually to have a baby, then came back and was pregnant again so went off again. A 3 year posting and in work for about 8 months. The military should be elite and a meritocracy or it will falter when it comes up against a ruthless foe.

My take on how this happens is that skilled specialists know and expect that people without their skills will defer to them and accept what they say. When Tim tells me this is the profile for a PFL I accept it because he is the expert. But, equally, those experts then have a natural mindset to defer to experts outside their skill sets. Thus, the Flag Officers etc readily accept the views and theories of so-called sociology experts when they say you NEED to understand your white privilege and you NEED to use preferred pronouns etc and they simply sign off on those things because they are trained to accept instruction from experts outside their own knowledge. Tim, I can virtually guarantee that the soldiers attacking Russian trenches won’t be giving a tinker’s cuss about preferred pronouns of their troop members and the tank commander won’t give a sh1t about the colour or gender of his or her loader. This has to stop before we become ineffective as a military force.

We absolutely need the best people for the job. What needs to change the most in my view (very much as an outsider looking in) are some of the attitudes and prejudices relating to where we might find those people from. For example, thinking you'll be able to recruit potential officers only from private schools.

Kate Adie, in her book Corsets to Camoflage points out that in some roles, women (who are demonstrably not as physically strong as men) have to be paired with men in order to get a specific job done. Organising the rosta to achieve that may be doable in peacetime but in a battle, when you are taking casualties and the CO has other rather more pressing problems, it's just not practicable. On top of that (and this is purely my opinion) a) women are naturally more risk averse than men and this may adversely affect their decision making and b) I suspect the public will be less accepting of us taking significant numbers of female casualties. As a female, who wanted to serve in the forces at a time when there were a vastly reduced number of roles open to women, it does concern me that we are now too far the other way and are politically correcting ourselves into losing a war. For example, the only way you can reconcile allowing women to do exactly the same jobs as the men, while still complying with the health and safety at work act, is to lower the physical standards for the men, which is what has already happened in the police and fire brigade.

No training, no university degree to prep for it nothing and thats if all goes well and your child is healthy. I cant see how you can commit to bringing up a child and a full on stressful career in the military. there may be some roles that fit but pilot and submariner are probably the most training and investment heavy. The command have no idea of how the recruitment process works…it matters not the service…only the people who work in the AFCO’s understand how it works. For every 10 people that walk into the office , we might get one eventually into the service…we were given targets in the Manchester AFCO , we never met them , not through the lack of effort ,it’s arbitrary who walks into an office and shows an interest to join. The RM command came up with the daft idea that 99.9% need not apply ; so they didn’t , it was a complete disaster, when the command stop listening to the SNCO ‘s it rarely works…

Tim, my big takeaway from this, is that I've probably bumped into Sam on a night out. I was probably wearing a dress at the time, despite being 100% straight. Damn good giggle on those nights, but man, yes, you see a lot of stuff. Point being, don't listen to the idiots throwing stones dude. No need to prove you're not, I've never met you, and I know your values enough to not listen to those trying to discredit you. On the topic, fair play on that Admiral for not being scared of "cancel culture." I've had more than my fair share of stones from from glass houses. My old man's advice was perfect, so I'll repeat it here. "Don't be throwing mud for the sake of throwing mud. It's Fing hard work, trust me. And all that happens is you end up dirty. But DO draw a line in the sand, and the microsecond anyone on the other side dares to put a toe over it, do whatever you need to do to chop their Fing legs off. Be extreme at times like that. Send a clear message about where the line is, and why it's there. And when they retreat, have the good grace to let them go lick their wounds & feel sorry for themselves."

I was on a Royal Sigs base a few weeks ago that also had a detachment of Gurkhas, (love those guys, really really nice dudes), what struck me was the huge level of diversity since the time I was in the Army back in the 1980s as an EOD officer. What also struck me was the quality of the base, it was more like a University campus! In the 1980s it was cockroaches and blister making issue socks. 😅

Do we really want to have female Submariners with what could be long term reproductive implications? What happens to a female Submariners on a 3 month(+) patrol who discovers they are pregnant once submerged?

In principle males are better equipped physically & psychologically for physical violence, which the battlefield is by definition, females should therefore not be in combat roles in H.M. Forces. Not a complex issue to grasp, & one that man has known for thousands of years. Westminster/Whitehall, on its civilian Feminism zeitgeist trip, should be told clearly where to get off by the military chiefs on this issue, & if they're not up to doing that they shouldn't be military chiefs.

The issue with increasing the recruiting of females into military posts is complicated by the fact that females are the biologically chosen gender for reproduction, a fact that cannot be ignored. If a female wants to compete in areas of the military that require on going assessment for promotion technical progression they must accept that it will have an impact on their progression, that is a fact! The only career that can accommodate such a career progression is predominantly politics. A classic example being the German politician Ursula Von dear Leyen. She has almost spent ore time on maternity leave than actually in post, having seven children! Her history of competence is less than impressive yet she ticks all the WOKE boxes! Women have to accept biological facts, I accept that biology and truth are currently unpopular but that’s the way it is. If females want to compete in the military, then compete under the same rules. Unfortunately the Western world has gone soft, it wants to be all fluffy and nice. Just wait until we are forced into a position with a determined enemy. The results will be bloody and brutal with an outcome for the West which will be catastrophic! We are sleep walking into oblivion just to be ‘nice’ to every one.

Another excellent programme. Provocative, thoughtful and necessary! I just do not understand, because I'm an older guy I suppose, why the military, and others, are slaves to these policies. The role of the military should be pragmatic. If you can't make the grade you are gone. Simple standards are all that is needed. If you need to be able to carry a certain pack weight over a certain course in so much time. That is it. It is a colourblind test that must be passed at that standard regardless of who, or what, you are. Why not just apply that practice for everything. Why is it "important" to have a certain ratio of ethnicity or gender considered at all? Am I just being a bit dim? This all seems like a shortcut in many cases. If there are certain groups, in certain areas, with poor education, why not put effort into raising those educational standards in those areas so they can compete? I must be turning into a grumpy old man. I just want to tell the people suggesting these quotas, etc. to just shut up and get on with the work at hand. I think that Gen Z has the right idea. When I was their age, I joined the military in the US and was seriously committed. Now, I wouldn't even consider it; not even to fly fast jets. What governments call national interest is just about criminal. I'll stop now before I go any further. Keep up the good work and the interesting videos.

Absolutely, Tim. For us ze war is over. They can enact whatever policies they like in the services because they know we've effectively cashed out of the war business (which isn't a bad thing!). Aside from the special forces, border patrol and the nuclear deterrent it's just a career with increasingly little possibility of seeing active service. Over time we'll run the regular army and navy down to a fractional force which absolutely, positively cannot engage primary powers, their proxies or client states for fear of escalation to Global Thermonuclear War. Leave the Yanks to do the heavy lifting until such time when the three major power blocs settle their differences and we move over to global governance (which - again - isn't necessarily a bad thing).

I know what you say makes 100% sense. But I also know that the British government seems to think that the UK is still a global superpower. They think that by sending in a few fighters and ships, wham, bam, thank you mam. Against a third world enemy, that is a viable strategy. But against a remotely serious enemy, even the Taliban, that won't cut it.

@@S3NTRY Why? The cycle of expansion, consolidation and control has been going on since the beginning of human history. It's the natural order of things. A few hundred years ago people were crying and wailing about the creation of the United States or Great Britain. Last time I checked nobody is advocating a return to the halcyon days of the Celts or the Bretons or the Vikings or the Romans. Besides, there are a lot of problems coming down the pike. Not least of which being a critical lack of resources (fresh water) and overpopulation. Can't tackle those issues if you have 200+ nations all running around doing their own thing.
