Don’t use this so-called expert again. I have an undergrad degree in psychology and lived with a narc for 54 years and this woman certainly isn’t any sort of source of legitimate information on this topic. Who cares what her formal education is or what it seems she has been licensed/certified for? She is clearly lacking of any sort of legitimate expertise on narcissism. She’s devoid of facts to those who need it to survive what they have been through.

Narcissism is interesting because in the generation before me it largely originated from neglect and abuse in childhood. Now, in the generation after me, it’s largely originating from indulgence in childhood. Generally speaking of course.

Oh yeah.. I will never forget, when my ex took me to the home party of his friends. They really get along with me, we were talking, laughing, but I felt a bit sick that day, I asked host if she had any painkillers. She gave it to me, and we continued the dinner. My ex got so furious at me, he yelled in front of all people, that I lie about my headache, that I steel attention from him, that I need all eyes on me, and he wanted me to leave. He also said that he should left me home. Right now I just see a sick person. But back then, it felt horrible, I felt so disrespected...

This video feels a little on the irresponsible side from a survivor’s perspective. Sure, narcissistic behaviour can help someone succeed in business. Sure, milder narcissism can remain at the level of annoying and difficult, especially if you’re not close to the person. Sure, many subtypes of narcissism *mimic* confidence and so we often make that association between the two. But why on earth, in a short video about dark triad traits, spend so much time talking it up like this?? Also, why the condescending remark about how some people view celebrities? Isn’t there ample evidence that there’s a high occurrence of entitled and abusive behaviour in that population? I know some people see a selfie being taken and they jump to conclusions, and there’s room for clarifying that. But wow. The time spent on justifications and mental gymnastics here… I’m sorry to say, this video felt a bit on the insensitive side.

Kyle, I usually love your guests on your show. But this woman was unclear in her explanations, and very misleading. They don't even call it a dark triad anymore. Because of the sadistic element always involved. Honestly I had to turn this off and I couldn't even believe her answers are going to mislead thousands who listen. Then upon reading your comment section, it appears other people who have vast education certainly couldn't tolerate her explanations either because she was so far off. It seems brother, Med Circle might be going downhill pretty damn fast when you bring guests on like this who don't stay up to date with evidence and scientific journals.

questions to consider - how could Carl Jung's theory of animus and anima be considered outdated? Is it wise to continue to promote a concept that teaches that masculine qualities in women and feminine qualities in men are unconscious, knowing that masculine and feminine qualities are in both women and men and are not unconscious, but rather already part of the female and male anatomies, e.g. having both testosterone and estrogen regardless of sex? How does white (male) supremacy impact what is considered fact and what is considered interpretation and how does the larger system allow this to prevail without question over decades and centuries?
