2015 to be honest.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a knockoff look so real before. Normally it’s obvious, but it’s definitely not here.

The only one that came close was the tomy knockoff - but again, this one definetly amazed me

A few years ago my mom accidentally bought me a fake diesel ten, and I honestly love it. It’s pretty much identical to the real one and because it was from my mom I can’t help but have a special place in my heart for it

I read somewhere about how super accurate bootlegs like this get made. The factories in China that produce the official toys are occasionally rented out nights and days they'd normally be closed to bootleggers who bring their own inferior cheap material. The official packaging is even partially used sometimes.

As a Thomas Collector myself, I have come across a few knock off items of my own. One in particular I actually found at a local arcade. He's quite an....interesting little fella. Definitely a clear knock off of a thomas toy with almost no attempt to even replicate a real toy. From classic typos on the box, to a hilariously messed up thomas inside, it's quite honestly a highlight of my collection. If u were interested, I'd be willing to send you pics and vids of this....train (if you can even call it that) in action. He's quite the interesting fella :) Edit: now that I think about it, seeing you review a compilation of obviously knock off thomas toys would definitely be an interesting idea!

That's typically how knockoffs gain popularity. The transformers franchise has similar things going on where the knockoff makers give the fans what they want while somehow staying out of the rights owners sights.

Hey man, don't feel bad you got a bootleg, I buy high quality bootlegs of 3.75" Star Wars figures on Ebay all the time. The bootleg Phase 2 Clone Troopers are AMAZING, and near-original. The only problem, is that the joints for the arms and legs are stiff compared to the original molds of the figures.

My dad bought me a knock off James when I was five years old and I didn’t notice that it was a knock off until I was eight and I just laughed to death 💀😅😂😎

At Trackmaster bee James looks so cool now I know in like super suspicious I'm not really a big fan of knockoffs but this looks absolutely amazing and I love the Bee James toys they just look so cool in my opinion 😎

Yeah surely that's the easiest way to know it's a fake - the buzz buzz James (official) was released before the change to batteries in the engines... But it didn't get brought up?

Is it possible the counterfeiters got a hold of some genuine surplus packaging?

It's possible this is a bootleg made by the factory which made some trackmaster stuff, and they just used old molds and project files. Its possible there may of been a James goes buzz buzz CGI prototype and its just somehow now got mass produced by this factory

I'm sorry, but the the fact he had that underlying feeling that the damn things would fucking explode, immediately followed by him turning it on and seeing how slow it was going was funny to me.

Some fake stuff can look like the original because their trying to trick you and other people I recommend getting Ertl or nakayoshi bandai because they have no knockoffs

I see a fake Thomas bubble blower in a toy stand every time I go the Glendale Americana, It makes me want to gag.

lmao that was great, honestly the obvious difference to tell its a knock off is that james was not “the red nosed engine” like with other products such as the wooden engine note: i do not own a legit james goes buzz buzz product of any sort apart from the episode in best of james on dvd
