@@kalpana.n5294he is doing the exact same thing a nuke does, but better, with his atomic slash. an atomic nuke is caused by spamming 2 particles at each other either so much force that they get destroyed and all the energy within them gets released, afterwhich the resulting energy causes a chain reaction. the only reason that their isn’t an atomic nuke happening every time that he uses that move is because atomic nuke are using uranium, while he’s just using well… whatever he cuts.

I think the biggest difference between monsters and superhumans is obsessions. Most monsters turn out the way they are because they grow addicted to something to a negative and self-destructive level. Pig God is a great example, his gluttony should have turned him into a monster similar to Gums, but because he values human lives and prioritises them, he didn't turn.

I’ve wondered pretty early on if the whole monsterfication thing may have happened to Saitama. People seem to turn into monsters from obsession at times, like crab guy eating too much crab or the 5-second car guy in ep 1 who liked working on model cars so much he turned into one. I wondered if Saitama obsessively training to be a hero that can beat anything in one punch monsterfied him into just that. He comments in early scenes that he feels like in order to gain the power, he “lost up something important for being human” but that could just be apathy from lack of stimuli too. Still, a neat theory. With all this God stuff being introduced though, I’m not as heavily hedging my bets on it anymore, I have no idea where the story may go now. 🤷
