Hardy went all in for Bane. It was hard to top Ledger but his performance was brilliant in his own right.

Its so sad that people give him so much hate for the role. He admitted that he has cried reading some comments on bane online and its heartbreaking. He did such a good job but all anyone cares about is if the character is comic accurate

@@chrispyfriedchicken9648 Exactly. The comic Bane is ridiculous anyway, and would never work in this type of movie. Admittedly, I was actually pretty disappointed to find out he was going to be the main villain initially of TDKR after they first announced it. But once the first trailer dropped, I was like "ok, now THAT Bane looks like an interesting, and intimidating villain!". And yes. Tom's portrayal of Bane was by far and away the best ever. Christopher knows how to take comic book villains, and turn them into far more memorable characters. Sad how some people don't like change. Especially in this case where the change was actually for the better.

It’s really not. It’s so poorly coordinated, and the dialog is some of the most laughable lines in cinema history. The editing is choppy too, you can see the guy smashing into the window by accident and they actually kept it in.

@@flouserschird The first gunshot is really shitty too, hammer drops, slide doesn't cycle at all, zero recoil, no muzzle flash. Just incredibly fake looking all the way around.

Chris Nolan had said he needed an actor who could talk with his eyes to play Bane....and Tom Hardy was the answer. He brought the voice and the mask to life and did a freaking amazing job. My heart still aches over the loss of Heath but am so glad Tom strolled in giving me another villain to love!

I work in investment banking specializing in asset management. I've also has back surgery to fix issues with my spine, not scoliosis. There is so much stuff in this movie that pisses me off. The entire subplot involving the stock market is absolute bullshit. Trading would stop, and it's literally impossible for an insider to sell all their shares even if they wanted to.

Just because Bane "robs" a stock market doesn't mean jack shit. The markets wouldn't really crash either even if he sold everyones stock, the market would just enter a freeze. He'd literally need millions of individuals stocks to even start a decline like that lmao.

Most movies are incredibly stupid if you don't exercise a great deal of suspension of disbelief.

"Have we started the fire?" Just a brilliant delivery of those few lines by an actor who only had one scene in this movie.

The Dark Knight rises wasn’t perfect but it definitely had its highs lol. This was an insanely awesome opening scene.

@@dimelo8826 you can have your own opinion, I just didn’t like the plot “Bad guy almost detonates nuclear bomb in city and good guy stops him” Also some things just don’t make sense like batman not knowing banes underground base was right under his garage, the fact batman refused to fund the police and instead still wanted to play dress up even when he was getting old, and the fact they make bane seem so strong and then he just dies in 2 seconds when getting shot like they couldn’t have done that earlier

This scene right here is one of Christopher Nolan’s best achievements in practical effects. This guy goes to great lengths for realism in action. I know for a fact that Michael Mann is a big inspiration to him.

I once had a boss who was an old veteran and he had this happen to him once. It's terrifying on a level that most people can scarcely comprehend. The relief afterward is palpable but your body has so much adrenaline going through it that you're still scared and disoriented long after you realize you're still alive. Naturally, many international bodies of law consider it de facto, "mock execution" and therefore psychological torture.

Yeah, when this scene premiered ahead of the film's opening a few months later, a common complaint was that it was difficult to understand him. So they redid his lines before the film released so he'd be more clear.

I got to see this scene long before the movie opened. If you went to see Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol in IMAX they should you this exact scene before the trailers started. No warnings or anything just started it. It was one of the coolest things I’d ever have happen at the theater.

This scene makes zero sense. WTF would you get captured in the hopes the CIA would be dumb enough to put you on the same plane as the scientist? Then you transfer blood to a dead body for 30 seconds? Why?? They’ll just finger print the body. Why did they bring one dead body when they knew they were going to leave someone behind?? You just lost a loyal soldier. Also, the wings ripped off the aircraft 10 nautical miles away from the fuselage, in what world does the FAA/CIA/average donut eating cop think a wingless plane flew for ten miles. It’s obviously a hijacking. Not to mention an intelligence aircraft would obviously see another aircraft sneaking up on it through both ATC and CTAF systems. Hijacking is also only possible because Bane broke steel cuffs 🤦🏽‍♂️ and the military with rifles literally never used their rifles. One guy pulled out a handgun instead of using his loaded unfired rifle and got shot despite being stationary by an upside down dangling target. I had alphabet soup with a better story than this.

This is the worst scene in the movie. Bane gets a shroud put on him, this means that the people who put on the shroud knew he was Bane. That means the people who delivered the shrouded men to the agent work for Bane. That means that Bane had Dr. Pavel in captivity, but he decided to risk both or either of them dying just so that they could intimidate the agent before killing him.

I'll never forget when I first heard Bane speak. It was, and still is, SO chilling.

I love how Christopher Nolan devoted one specific scene to introduce the antagonists motivation and distinctive characteristics perfectly and why were they so dangerous to Batman in spite of his extraordinary means.

On four of the plane windows - gunmen with submachine guns. On the fifth window - a body bag flopping like a fish.

Nolan only hires the best- his crew and actors are top notch. Aidan Gillen is pretty samn underrated. His accents are perfect for being an Irishman. Back in his The Wire days his accent was especially impressive. Tom Hardy's chops speaks for itself.

Bane is pure 100% hatred. And Tom Hardy performed it beautifully just by looking.

You have to think about how loyal his men were and how that one particular person strapped himself in with glee knowing that he will have served his supposed purpose. Dropping to the earth and smiling the whole way down. That’s fucking chilling!

This movie is awesome and glorious and Bane is legendarily hilarious and meme-worthy, but seriously this movie is so silly. Like the whole movie could've been avoided if Littlefinger just unmasked Bane before taking off

How did the “for you” line get into the actual movie??? A simple rewrite could have been “It would be extremely painful” (slight pause) “but not for me...”

Bane does have some really loyal goons, two goons don't say any information about Bane not fazed and horrified by the gunshot, and then you have the goon that accepted his death for him going down with the plane, terrific scene.

this scene is better then anything in the batman, there was literally no memorable action scenes
