omg !!! who are you man ? I've never heard one of my countryman talk so seriously of a Hollywood cinema!! Most of indian multiplexed audience wouldnt find the difference between Nolans Batman and the rest of the previous and post interpreted versions of the same!! Nolans Batman Trilogy is first of all a serious cinema made by a seriously high thinking film director. nolan has clearly ventured into the pshyche a super hero, the circumstances that lead him to be one and the existential questions that he has to battle within.....Brilliant Sir Good Job... wish to hear your analysis of the last film in the trilogy

Excellent work. Dark Knight is definitely one of the greatest films ever made. The Joker constantly tries to prove to Batman that the society is selfish and will not act ethically when its survival is threatened. When he declares that Batman he should reveal himself and starts killing people, the people of Gotham start condemning Batman, even when he has done so much for them. He again proves his point with Harvey Dent, who leaves his noble intentions behind and starts seeking personal revenge. Batman is the only one who stands by his own principles and doesn't abandon them even when he suffers personal loss (Rachel's death). Joker admits this in the end when he says "You truly are incorruptible".

Wow, I've seen a lot of the dark knight movie analysis and I must say without a doubt this movie has very deep philosophical meanings. Many KZread videos about the dark knight has different opinions about the theme of the movie and I think none of theme are wrong. Every time I watch a video about TDK I learn more about the movie, each time there is something new which makes me love the movie more. And I especially love this explanation from your point of view, you seems to have a deep understanding of the movie. Thanks

The ending lines in this movie narrated by GARY OLDMAN, the perfect dialogue delivery, still gives me goosebumps ... A movie where the villian wins, hero taking the blame and escaping into darkness.... "Because we have to chase him. Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now, so we'll hunt him. Because he can take it, because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a Dark Knight."

Honestly, neither idea is wrong. I think it's more dependent on the individuals rather than the whole of society. It just so happens that the people on those boats chose to not kill the people on the other boat because more good people outweighed bad people. And I think that's true in the real world. The good vastly outnumber the bad. The bad just are good at creating chaos and anarchy and ruining it for everybody else.

I always find some similarity between TDK and Rashomon though.. " Everyone's version of truth (& lies) and meaning towards achieving harmony" You think they both are talking about human condition? Kurosawa could be a good topic for a video I guess! Great job though! good one!

+Nachiket Dhavalikar Yes I have plans to make an essay on Kurosawa as he is one of my favorites. And as per Rashoman and TDK, although the theme is ambiguity in presentation of truth/lies, in Rashoman, characters are constructing a version of truth necessarily for themselves whereas in TDK, Batman is constructing it only for others. People close to him, friends, foes, and we the audience are completely aware of the reality. But in case of Rashomon, I still have no idea who is speaking the truth.

+Cinema Beyond Entertainment : that is what he's trying to tell I guess... in Rashomon... "there's nothing like an absolute truth"!

+Cinema Beyond Entertainment rashoman and tdk cannot be compared... One is pure classic and ahead of its time... And one is great, though overrated piece of work... For me nolan is still quite a mediocre director as compared to other giants in world cinema and even Hollywood... His movies are generally pseudo intellectual and pretentious. At least his last two movies, interstellar and tdkr are really weak and extremely overhyped. The Prestige also failed to impress me. Inception, tdk were good, but will some be forgotten. His only interesting movie was memento which also was somewhat boring. He weakness according to me, as a filmmaker is that he tells nearly everything verbally, but isn't able to create the atmosphere to communicate with out actually having to. And finally he casts really great actors.. But isn't able to derive best from them. Except for heath legder(which was his individual work)... None of the other actors have given even near memorable performance. Well this all makes sense as he never received big awards for his work. And i don't think he is ever going to get anything big for his direction.

+Dev Arya Of course there are... If I start nitpicking, then I'll end up with a longer video than this one... But I liked the underlying thought which I thought was worth sharing.

Loved the fact that you highlighted the contradiction of Batman's lie, wherein he ignores the evidence of people's moral inclinations and decides to tell them the authoritarian noble lie. Very interesting point and a great analysis overall.
