Had he died a hero instead of Rachel, he wouldn't live long enough to suffer, which made him a villain in the end. However, it's spoken by Batman the second time. As you well know, Batman didn't want the people of Gotham to lose hope by finding out what their "hero" Dent had done. But his bad deeds couldn't stay hidden, so Batman had to take the blame. It was Batman's heroic sacrifice for the people. Therefore, when credits rolled Dent was still a hero in the eyes of the people, meaning he died like one. However, despite being innocent, Batman was considered to be a villain by the same people. Therefore, the quote refers to him in the end. The quote can't refer to Dent, because he didn't see himself become the villain. He became one. Batman never became a villain. He saw himself be one, or in other words, saw the people seeing him as such.

It will take ages to find someone to fit the cape & cowl the way Christian Bale did. Affleck tried but failed, & I doubt Pattinson can fill Bale’s shoes

The Dark Knight is one of the greatest films ever and deserves praise for elevating and transcending the superhero genre in a way that has not been repeated to the same degree since. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker is rightfully celebrated.

@@sharishsss yeah Thanos' aim was not entirely a bad thing. He saw where the universe was going and he knew without balance, the universe will die. He was willing to sacrifice anything for the balance of universe. We can see that when he killed Gamora despite her being his most precious thing. He deserved to win because he was determined. He gave his all. But in Endgame, Thanos lost because he was a younger version of Thanos and lacked the wisdom and ideology of Infinity War Thanos. If not that, the Avengers would've lost.

Hans Zimmer doesn't need Oscar to prove his worth, the Oscar needs Zimmer to prove it's sanctity. Period.

Okay, I kind of have to disagree on one or two points... Bane was really done dirty in the end of dark knight rises, though yeah he was still great. Scare Crow was pretty ridiculous in these movies, I mean, not that I cared but he sure wasn't the best. And Tim Burton's catwoman will always be the best one, But yes. This trilogy is just perfect. Nothing else to say

@@notmattmurdock7663 the Bane reveal at the end is pretty much my only issue with those films, otherwise what I stated weren't really problems. The scarecrow was ridiculous, that was what made me love him, Tim Burton's catwoman was better but this one was still great.

As a big marvel fan, i have to wholeheartedly agree. There's something about Nolan's understanding of Batman, his whole energy and style and personality, the whole aura surrounding Batman amd his universe, etc etc. All 3 films felt like reading a comic book. You know a movie's the real shit when it makes you feel like that. It's so authentic.

I realized that was pretty much the message in Spiderverse too lol

I was like 8 when I saw the movie the ending was the first time i can remember seeing a standing ovation in a theatre as soon as 0:42 hit you could just feel the hype building up

The Dark Knight is my 2nd favorite movie next to Gladiator. I saw it 6 times within 4 weeks when it came out in July of 2008. I went to the midnight showing to start and then was on a tear the next 4 weeks. I couldn't get enough of it.

"Why is he running, Dad- he didn't do anything wrong..." "Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now... so we'll hunt him- because he can take it, because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian... ... a watchful protector... ... a Dark Knight."
